It i. not my intention to tnx yon with o long and
lircaom advertisoment, but 1 lav before you the
testimony of tho most respectable families in tho
United StutoB, most of my certificates aro from the
city of Suvannah, whoro I reside, ami many from
your own State, where the Medicine m used with
great and astonishing success; it has proved itself
to be superior to uny other Medicine for the cure
of Fever and Ague, which it will do in tho very
short spaco of Twelve Hours, it has never been
known to fail to cITect a certain cure. The Mcd*
icine is a harmless arid tasteless quo, which will
moke it the most populaijMcdicinoiiitho Southern
States. Tho Medicine contains no mineral pre
paration whatever, but is a harmless Vegetable
matter only. To Planters, this Medicine is a val-
‘ uahle preparation, as it cures nil eases in twelve
hours, ana does not require any time to he lost; nil
that is to bo done is to take tho Medicine and to go
to work. To tho lUco Planter it is a valuable Med
icine, as it does not contain atiy mercuric I or min-
‘ .eral preparation whatever, una is therefore a safe
Medicine fbr thoso who are liable to exposure. I
beg you. do not lot me have to tnx you so often with
advertisements, certificates, &e. It 1ms already
proved itself to hewlmt 1 say it is, aud the greatest
proof is every body is recommending it to be {the
only certain und speedy cure fortno Fovcr and
Ague All you have to do is to ask your neighbor
what he thinks of Humphreys' Remedy for Fever
and Ague, and ofcourse, to be convinced, you will
try it, at Ionst I hope so. IIore is my ofibr to any
Planter of South CaroJinu, who will either call on
Doct. P. M. Cohen,ofClairleston, S. C. or myself,
in tho city of Suvannah, nml either of its will give
enough for tweJvo cases, and if it does not euro ten
out oftwelve, we will refund the amount paid for
it Your are to see the Medicine taken as I have
directed.
Owing to tho henvy rains during the past sum
mer, and which still continue, all the low lands
are under water, which will cause a great deal of
this disease on tho Rico Plantations; it will be to
your advantage to procure a certain mid speedy
remedy; you can tio so by applying to either of
my Agents or myself. Ask for HUM PHREY'S
REMEDY FOR FEVER AND AGUE.
This Medicine is for sale by tho following
named gentlemen, who aro the only agents for
the Halo of the Ghkat Southern Rkmkdr, where
it will bo found cither at wholesale or rent'd.

Tins Medicine b»« acquired a very ex-
tended and eitabliihed reputation wherever
It hat been u*ed, based entirely on Us own merits,
which Us superior offlcacy has alone sustained. The un
fortunate victim of hereditary disease, with swollen glands, con
tracted sinews, and bones half carious, has been restored to health
and vigor. The scrofiilous patient, covered with ulcers, lonthsomo to himself
[ and his attendants, has been made whole. Hundreds of persons, who had groaned
hopelessly for years under cutaneous and glandular disorders, chronic rhoumatlsm,
and many other complaint* springing from a derangement of tho secretive orgnns
and the circulation, have been raised as it were from tho rack of disease, and now,
| with regenerated constitutions, gladly testify to the efficacy of this inestimable
preparation. The testimony of those who havo been cured by Us use, with their
residences, has been published from time to time; and were It desirable, a mass
i of the roost overwhelming testimony could be brought forward, proving most con
clusively 1U inestimable value. The afflicted, and those who have not used this
medicine, era invited to make • trial of its virtues, and appropriate to themselves the
| benefit* which it alone con bestow.
CANCEROUS ULOER CURED, OF 8EVEN YEARS’ STANDING*
Thla cure was effected in July, 1644; thero have been no symptoms of a rotum,
and her health still continues good, July, 1848.
I ° NtwYork, July 35,1644.
Messrs. Sanos:—Gentlemen—I consider it but an act of justice to you to state the
following facta in reference to the great benefit I have received in the cure of an ob
stinate Caxcibovs Ulcer on my breast.
I was attended eighteen months by a regular and skilful physician, assisted by tho
advice and counsel of one of our most able and experienced surgeons, without tho
least benefit whatever. All the various methods of treating cancer were resorted to;
for five weeks in succession my breast was burned with caustic three times n-dny,
and for six It was doily syringed with a weak solution of nitric acid, and the cavity or
Internal ulcer was so large that it held over tn ounce of the solution. The doctor
C irobed tho ulcer and osnmined the bone, and said flic disease was advancing rapidly
o tho lungs, und if I did not get speedy relief by medicino or an operation, the result
would be ratal. I was advised to have the breast laid open and tlte bones examined |
but finding no relief from what had been done, and feeling I was rapidly getting worse,
I almost despaired of recovery, and considered my case nearly hopeless.
Seeing various testimonials and certificates of cure by the use of Sands’ Saxsapa-
xilla, in cases similar to my own, I concluded to try a few bottles, several of which
were ufced, but, from the long deop-seated character of my disease, produced no very
decided change. Considering this os the only probablo cure for my cose, 1 persovered
until the disease was entirely cured. It is now over eleven months since tho cure
was completed; there is not the slightest appearance of a return. / thtrtfort pro-
nounce myielf well, and tho cure tniirely efftettd fry Sands’ SaRSapaMLLA, at 1 too*
no other mediant oj any kind during the time 11eat using it, nor have J taken any tinct.
Please excuso this long-deferred acknowledgment, which I think it my duty to
moke. Your valuable SartspariJin cured roc, with tho blessing of Divine Providence,
when nothing else could t and I feel myself under lasting obligations to you. 1 can
say many things I cannot write, and I do most respectfully invite ladies afflicted as I
have been, to call upon mo, and I will satisfy them fully of the truth as stated abovo,
and many other things in reference to the case. > ...

LIVER COMPLAINT.
Tho following is an extract from a letter received from Rev. William Gnlusha
Btrktkirt, Vt„ Oct. S3, 1845.
Messrs. Sands I havo been afflicted with a severe pain in my atde, occasioned
by a diseasod liver, for the last twenty yeara; suffering at tiroes wbat language can
not convey; but since taking your Sarsaparilla 1 have been greatly relieved, so mu
so thnt I have been able to attend to my business, and preach occasionally, for t
lost fifteen months. I wholly discarded all other medicine, and thoroughly tried tho
Sarsaparilla, which I can recommond in truth and sincerity to ail thoso who nro in
any way afflicted with any species of scrofulous complaints. There have been some
remarkable cures effected by its use in this vicinity. Mrs. I. Shaw, by the uso of six
bottles, was restored to better health than she nud before enjoyed for ten years; and
Mrs. W. Stevens, who had been severely afflicted with Erysipelas, was entirely cured
by tho use of a few bottles. Yours truly, \VM. GALUoHA.
“*"* OURE OF A SCROFULOUS AFFEOTION OF THE EYE8.
South Atngilcn, R. /., October 11, 1847.
Messrs. Sands '.—Gentlemen—My little daughter, when one year old, was attacked
with a scrofulous humor on her face, which soon after extended into hor eyes, causing
almost total blindness in ono of them, and disfiguring her whole faco. 1 employed
two physicians to attend her, who exhausted their utmost skill to give her relief, bui
it all proved useless, and finally one of them remarked to me that he had known of
some striking cures effected by Sands’ Sarsaparilla, and advised me to try it. I ob
tained one bottle, which she commenced using, and before it was all used up it had
effected an entire cure. It is now over four yenrs since she was curod, and there has
been no reappearance of tho disease, and we are satisfied that it is a perfect cure.
It gives me great pleasure to add that I con recommend it to every sufferer from any
similar complaint. Respectfully yours, GEORGE ROBIN8C'’

Dr. n. Jupnc—Dear Sir : I reel bound to you

of giving publicity to the extraordinary ellects of
-our EXPECTORANT on myself. Having
jeon afflicted for several yenrs with a severe
cough, hectic fever, nud its concaiilitnitt discuses,
I seemed only doomed to linger out a short but
miserable existence, until the lull of 1830, when
being more severely attacked, and having resort
ed to all my former remedies, and the prescrip
tions oftwo physicians in flic neighborhood, with
out deriving any benefit, or tho consolation of
surviving but a low day*, or weeks at tho furthest,
when the last gleam of hope wa* about to vanish.
I had recommended to mo your Expectorant
—nud blessed by that Being who doos all tilings
in the uso oftho means—aud contrary to the ex
pectations of iny physicians and friends. I was
in a few day* raised from my bed, and was cn
allied, by tho use of a bottle, to attond to my
business, enjoying, since, better health than I hud
for ton yours previous. James W* Estill.

D lt. TAYLOR'S BALSAM OF LIVER
WORT.—That this medicine should uc-
quiro so much notoriety is not ut nil strange when
we take into consideration the vast number that
aro cured by its use. For many years it lias
proved so astonishingly successful at tho North, that
nearly every fumily retain it in themhouso us an
tidote to colds, coughs and consumption.
That no other article possesses the suinc merits
is equally true, and the consumptive learns that
lie can depend upon this medicine when all others
imvo proved worthless. There is not a doubt but
thousands ure yearly cured by this inestimable
medicine, und in many instances where those
given up to die,Imyc in an iuc’dible short time been
entirely cured by its unrivalled cfficncy. The fol
lowing remarkable case of consumption was
cured by this Balsam of Liverwort. As yon
value life and health and would bo curod, ut once
resort to this article, und rest assured you will not
resort in vain—but read and judge for yotirselfl
Interesting cure of Consumption and Liver
Complaint.—I had a violent cough, with raising
of phlegm, a severe pain in luy side, back,
stomach, aud across my bowels. I wns so cold ut
times, it seemed impossible to boon warm, oven
when others were complaining of the heat, and
my skin wns very yellow. I fell away to skin and
hones, my veins sunk in and became invisible, and
overy person supposed ino dying. A friend of
mine recommended me to try Dr. Taylor's Balsa
of Liverwort, which I got, us my physicinu did
me no good, nud this medicino soon restored
me to good health again.
J. Kavanaoh,

Although thousands are curod by Dr. Taylor’s
Balsam of Liverwort, and ns many still die of that
fatal malady, the cansq is plain, neglect your first
symptoms, and then trifle with things of no use
until it is too late, death follows. Hut every
one cun he cured if they will. Take this medi
cine at tho first approach of the insidious foo, and
you will bn ousily cured. Yet this medicine lias
cured consumption in advanced stages, ns the
testimonials below will prove. But tho surest
wuyisnotto defer, us “delays are u!ways dan

Consumption Cured.—My son having a violent
cold, used to cough violently, raising quantities
of thick putrid matter, and finally ho could not
turn over m bed, from weakness. lie manifest-
-cd overy symptom of confirmed consumption.
For 6 years he had been subject to the asthma.
His physicians, Drs. Vcnnoulo and Anderson,
said ho was incurable and must soon die. Yet 1
wns determined to try Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of
Liverwort, and strange ns it may uppeur, this
medicine has fully restored his health.
Sophia Gallon, 14 Norfolk-st.
Asthma Cured.—I have sutVcrcd Irom the
Asthma a very long time, and havo used every
medicine I could obtniu for its euro in vain, until
I tried Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort. This
medicine has nfibrded me most munifesl benefit,
and is, in my opinion, n cure for this distressing
disease; more especially, us I know of many
cases among my friends, where it has been highly
successful. Persons interested are invited to cull
at iny residence for further information.
