**Trnth Is stranger than Action,”
Tho alleutiou of the reader is culled to the fol
lowing astonishing cure, effected by tho use of
Sauls’ Sarsaparilla.
This is to certify that I have a colored woman
who has been afflicted for the lust five yenrs with
Scrofula, and all the remedies I used had no ef
fect in arresting tho progress of tho complaint;
on the contrary, she grew constantly worse; and
uflcr expending between $70 aud $80 with physi-
cions, besides using other popular remedies with
out success, till the disease lmd eaten away tho
curtilage of her nose, iradc its appearance on va
rious parts of her body, uud had finally commenc
ed its ravages in tho roof of her mouth.
In this dreadful situation, with the prospect of
death staring her in the face, I stated her case
to Dr. Disoswny, tho agent for Sands’ Sarsapa
rilla in Newborn, N. C., by whom I was advised
to use tliut article; and to my surprise nnd that of*
my neighbors, to whom her case was known, af
ter using four und u half bottles, she was restor
ed to perfect health, and that ill the space of three
weeks, and was able to work in two weeks from
the time she commenced taking it.
In witness ofthe truth of this statement, I have
hereunto affixed uiy Maine, this 39th Sept., 3347.

Ulcer cured of seven yenrs standing.
This cure was effected in July, 3844; there
have been no symptoms of a return, uiid her
health still continues good, July, 1848.
Now-York, July 25,1844.
Messrs. Sands—Gentlemen: I consider it but
an aet of justice to you to state Iho following facts
in reference to tho groat benefit I hove received
in the cure of un obstinate Cancerous Ulcer on my
breast.
I was attended eighteen months by a regular
and skilful physician, assisted by the advice and
counsel of nno of our most able and experienced
surgeons, without the least benefit whatever. All
tho various methods of treating cancer were re
sorted to; for five weeks in succession by breast
was burned with caustic three times a dny, and
for six it was daily syringed with a weak solution
of nitric acid, and the cavity or internnl ulcer was
so large that it held over an ounce of the solution.
Tho doctor probed tho ulcer and examined the
bone, und said the disease was advancing rnpidly
to the lungs, nnd if I did not get speedy relief by
medicine or by ai> operation, the result would be
fntal. I was udvised to have the breast laid open
and tho bones examined; but finding no relief
-I'ronr wlmt had been done, and feeling I was rap
idly gelling worse, I almost despaired of recove
ry, and considered iny case nearly hopeless.
Seeing various testimonials and certificates of
euro by tho uso of Sands' Sarsaparilla, in cases
similar to my own, I concluded to try a fow bot
tles, several of which were used, but, from the
long deep-seated character of my disease, produ
ced no very decided change. Considering this
us the only probable cureformy case, I persever
ed until the disease was entirely cured. It is now
over eleven months since the cure was comple
ted ; there is not the slightest appearance of a re
turn. I therefore pronounce myself wf.ua nnd
the cure entirely eflectcd by Sands 1 ' Sarsaparilla.
as I took no other medicine of uny kind during
tho time 1 was using it, nor have I taken any
since.
Pleasoexenso this long deferred acknowledg
ment which I think it my duty to make. Your vn-
luable Snrsnparillncured me,with the blessingof
Divine Providence, when nothing else coAid;and
I feel myself under lasting obligation to you. I
can say many things I cannot write, nnd I do
moot respectfully invito ladies afflicted as I have
been, to call upon me, and I will satisfy them
fully ofthe truth as stated above, und many other
things in reference to the case.
Nancy J. Milled, 218 Sullivnn-street.
Sands' Celebrated Sarsaparilla.—This excellent
compound, which i3 creating suchn universal in
terest throughout the country, has made its way
successfully into the favor of our citizens nnd the
people around us. Wo have rend again nnd a-
guiil'of the efficacy of this invaluable medicine—
if we can call a vory pleasant beverage medicine
—but not until lately liuvc we hnd* any positive
proof which could induce us to speak fairly of it.
But, from facts in our possession, wo are now
well convinced that without any exception, it is
tho safest, pleasantest, and best compound ever of
fered to tho public, for the cure of all chronic dis
eases, rheumatism and scrofula, and all impuri
ties ofthe blood, together with many other com
plaints.
It has solongbocn remarked that the age is one
of “nostrums uud nnstrum-vonders,” that we
hardly dare recommend* a valuable discovery in
the Medicul Science, lest we jeopardize our repu-
tation-for incredulity und consistency; but in this
iustatice we hesitate not to hazard tho remark
which wo have made above.—Hartford Review.

there were frequently weeks together that 1 could
uol fpeak above a whisper; and besides, the In

so that uiy hearing: was very much impaired. . Af

D It. TAYLOR’S BALSAM OF LIVER
WORT.—That this medicine should ac
quire so much notoriety is not at uilstrauge when
we take into consideration the vast number that
are cured by its use. For many years it has
proved sousloniriiinglysucccssfulat the North,that
nearly every family retain it in their house as an
tidote to colds, coughs uud consumption.
That no other article possesses the same merits
is equally true, and the consumptive learns that
he cun depend upon this lnediciuu when all others
have proved worthless. There is not a doubt hut
thousands are yearly cured by this inestimable
medicine, and in many instances whero those
given up to die, nave in nn inc’dible short time been
entirely cured by its uufivulled ellicacy. The fol
lowing remurkable case of consumption was
cured by this Balsam of Liverwort. As you
value life and health and would be cured, nt once
resort to this article, und rest assured you will not
resort in vain—but read and judge for yourself:
Interesting curls of Consumption and Liter
Complaint.—I had a violent cough, with raising
of phlegm, a severe pain in my side, back,
stomach, and across my bowels. I was so cold at
times, it seemed impossible to keep warm, even
when others were coniphiiuing oi the heut, and
my skin was very yellow. I fell away to skin and
boues, my veihseunlrin umlbecninoinvisible,uud
every persou supposed mo dying. A friend of
mine recommended me to try Dr. Taylor’s Balsam
of Liverwort, which I got, as my physiciuu did
me no good, aud this medicine soon restored
mo to good health again.
J. Kavakaoh,
Ship Carpenter, G40 Wutor-street.
Although thousands are cured by l)r. Taylor’s
Balsam of Liverwort, and us many still die of tliut
fatal malady, the cause is pluin, neglect your first
symptoms, und then trifle with tilings of no use
until it is too late, death follows. But every
ono eau bo cured if they will. Tukc this medi
cine nt the flrstupproach of the insidious foe, and
you will bo easily cured. Yet this medicine lias
cured consumption in advanced stages, as the
testimonials below will prove. But tho surest
way is not to defer, as “aelays are always dan-
gerous.”
Consumption Cured.—My son having n violent
cold, used to cough violently, raising quantities
of thick putrid matter, and finally he could not
turn over in bed, from weakness. He manifest
ed every symptom of confirmed consumption.
For 6 years he had been subject to the nstlunu.
Ilis physicians, Drs. Vcrmoule and Anderson,
said he was incurable nnd must soon die. \ r et I
was determined to try Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of
Liverwort, and strange as it may appeur, this
medicine has fully restored his health.
Sophia Gallon, 14 Norfolk-st.
Asthma Cured.—I have suffered from the
Asthma a very long time, and have used every
medicine I could obtain for its cure in vuin, until
I tried Dr. Taylor’s Bnlsara of Liverwort. This
medicine has afforded mo tnoaf manifest benefit,
nnd is, in my opinion, n cure for this distressing
disease; more especially, as I know of many
cases among my friends, where it hns boen highly
successful. Persons interested are invited to cull
ut my residence for further information.
Mrs. S. Ruton,218 Lnurcns-st.
Wo might give hundreds of testimonials from
Physicians, the press, clergy, and those who have
beeu cured, but all we desire is to cull the attention
of tho afflicted, and for their own good they will
try it.

the norvelossnessof tho femnlo frame, which is the great
cause ot Barrenness. It will not be expected of us, in

This Extract of Sarsaparilla has boon expressly pre

critical period, “ The turn of life," should neglect to
take it, os it is a certain prevontivo tor any of tho
numerous nml horrible diseases to which females are
subject at this time of life. This period may be de
layed for several years by using tins medicine. Nor
is it less valuable tor those who aro approaching wo-
manhood, as it is calculated to a*Ms<. nature, by quick
ening tho blood und invigorating the system. Indeed,
this modiciuo is Invaluable for all tho delicato disea

It braces tho whole system, renews ptrmnncntly tlio
natural energies, by removing Urn Imparities of th«
body, not so far stimulating os to produce subsequent
relaxation, which js the ease of most medicines taken for

this medicine, r.mny severe sad painful surgieul opera

Grrnt meaning lo Mothers nnd Children.
It is the safest and most cffectuul medicine for purify

upon child-birth ever discovered. It strengthens both
tho mother and child, prevents pain and disease, in

think it is indispensable. It is highly useful both before
