Allow mo to call your attention to ond of the great
est and most useful Medocines ever discovered.
If is not my intention to tax you with a long and
tifesora advertisement, hut l lay before you the
testimony of the most respectable families in the
United States, most of my certificates arc from the
city of Savannah, whore I reside, and many from
ymrrown State, where the Mediciue is used with
great and astonishing success; it lias proved itself
to bo superior to any other Medicine for the cure
of Fever and Ague, which it will do in the very
short space of Twelve Honrs, it has uover been
kffown to faille effect a certain cure. The Med
iciue is a harmless and tasteless one, which will
make ilthe most popular Medicine in the Southern
States. The Medicine contains tto mineral pre
paration whatever, but is a harmless Vegetable
iiRtter only. To Planters, this Mediciue is a val
uable preparation, as it cures all cases iu twelve
hours, and docs not require any time to he lost; all
that is to be done is to lake the Medicine und to go
t^work. To the Rice Planter it is a valuable Med
icine, as it does not contain any mercurial or min
eral preparation whatever, and is therefore a safe
Medicine for those who are liable to exposure. I
begyou. do not let me have to tax you so often with
advertisements, certificates, iV.e. It Ims already
proved-itself to hew hat I say it is, and the greatest
proof is every body is recommending it to be the
only certain and speedy cure for the Fever and
Ague All you have to do is to ask your neighbor
what ho thinks of H umphreya’ Remedy for Fever
and Ague, and of course, to he convinced, yoirwil!
fry it, at least I hone so. Here is my offer to uny
Planter of South Carolina, who will eitherfcall on
Doct. P. M. Cohen, of Charleston, S C. or myself,
intho city of Savannah, and either of us will give
enough for twelve cases, and if it does not cure ten
nnt of twelve, we will refund the amount paid for
it.' Your are to see the Medicine taken us l have
directed; 1
Outing to the heavy rains during the past sum
mer, and which still continue^ nil tho lew lands
nr8 underwater, which will cause a great deal of

This Medicine lias acquired u very extended
nnd established reputation wherever it lias been’
used, based eu ircly on its own merits, which its
superior elfibitcy lias alone sustained. Tim un
fortunate victim of hereditary disease, with swol
len glands, contracted sinews, nnd hones half ca
rious had been restored to health and vigor. The
scrofulous patient, covered with ulcers, loathsome
to hiiitseif, and his attendants, hits b'cdif made
whole. Hundreds of persons, who had groaned
hopelessly for years under cutaneous und gluud-
lilar disorders, chronic rheumatism, and many
other conipluints springing from a derangement
of the sccrutive organs and the circulation, have
been rnisc'd'as it were from the rnfck of disease,

testify to the.eliicucy of this inestimable prepara
tion. Tho testimony of those who have been
cured by its use, with their residences, has been
published from time to lime; and were it desira-
bio, a mass of the most overwhelming testimony
could he broil "lit forward, proving u/bsf conclu
sively its inestimable value. The ulllicted, and
those who have not used this medicine, ure invi

to themselves the benefit which it alone cun be
stow.
“Trtub Is stranger limit fiction.**
Tho attention of the reader is called to tho fol
lowing astonishing cure, effected by the use of
Sands’ Sarsaparilla.
This is to certify that I have a colored woman
who has been nfilicted for the last five years with
Scrofula, and uil the remedies I used had no ef
fect in arresting the progress of the complaint;
on the contrary, she grew constantly worse; and
after expending between $70 and $80 with physi
cians, besides using oilier populur remedies with
out success, till the diseuie hui-eaten away the
cartilago of her nose, made its appearance on vu-
ririus parts of her body, and had finally commenc
ed its ravages in the roof of her mouth.
Iu this dreadful sitciltio'n,'with the prospect of
death staring her in tho face, I slated her case
to Dr. Uisoswuy, the agent for Sands’ Sarsapa
rilla in Nowbern, N. C.. by whom 1 was advised
to use that article; and to my surprise'and that of
my neighbors, to whom her case wus known, al
ter using ftAif afsd’n hu'ir bottles, she was restor
ed to perfect health, mid tliut in the space of three
weeks, and was able to work - in two weeks front
the time she commenced taking it'.
In witness oftlie truth of this statement, I have
hereunto affixed yiy name, this 19th Sept.,,1847.

Ulcer cttrctf’of mo von years Ntanding.
This euro wus effected in July, 1844; there
have been nrt symptoms of a return,’and her
health still continues good, July, 1348.
Ncw-York, July 25,1844.
Messrs. Sands—Gentlemen: I consider it but
nil uct of justice to you to slate the following facts
in reference to tho great benefit I have received
in tho curb of art obstinate Ca'nCcrod# Ulcir on my
breast.
I was attended eighteen months by a regular
and skilful physician, assisted by the advice nnd
counsel of one ofoui'nidst able und experienced
surgeons, without the least benefit whatever. All
the various methods of treating cancer were- re
sorted to; fur five weeks in succession by brenst
was burned with caustic three times a day, and
for six it was daily syringed with a weak solution
of nitric acid, and the cavity or internal ulcer was
so largo that it held over an ounce of the solution.
The doctor probed tho ulcer and examined the
bone, und said the disease was udvuncing rapidly
to the lungs, and iff did not get speedy relief by
medicine or by an operation, the result would be
fatal. I wasudvised to have the breast laid open
and the bones examined; but finding no relief
from what had been done, and feeling I.tvas rap
idly getting worse, 1 almost despaired of recove
ry, and considered myca.se nearly hopeless.
Seeing various testimonials and certificates of
euro by the use of Sands' Sarsaparilla, iu cases
similar to my own, 1 concluded to try u few bot
tles, several of which were used, but, from the
long deep-seated character of my disease, produ
ced no very decided cliunge. Considering this
as the only probable euro for my case, I persever
ed until the disease was entirely cured. It is now
over eleven months since the euro was comple
ted ; there is not the slightest appearance of a re
turn. I therefore pronounce myself wnu„ nnd
the cure entirely effected by Sands' Sarsaparilla,
ns I took no other inedieine of any kind during
tho time I was using it, nor have I taken any
since. - *
Please excuse this long deferred acknowledg
ment wfticti l think it my duly to make. Your va
lue hie Sarsaparilla cured me, with the blessip.gof
Divine Providence, when nothing else could; und
I feel myself under lasting obligation to you. I
can say wmdf things I cannot write, nnd I do
most respectfully invite Indies nfilicted as I have
been, to call upon me, and I will satisfy them
fully of tho truth as stated above, and muny other
things ill rcfercucc to the case.
Nancv J. Miller. 218 Siillivan-street.
Sands’ Celebrated Sarsaparilla.—This excellent
compound, which is creutiug such a universal in
terest throughout the country, bus inade its way
successfully into the favor of our citizens and tlicr -
people around ns. We have read again and u-
gain of the elficuey of this invaluable medicine—
if we can cull a very pleasant beverage medieinb
—but not until lately have wo had any positive
proof which could induce us to speuk fairly of it.
But, from facts in our possession, wo are now
well convinced that without any exception, it is
tho safest, pleasantest, and best compound ever of
fered to the public, for tho euro of all chronic dis
eases, rheumatism and scrofula, and all impuri
ties oftlie blood, together with many other cotn-
plnints.
It bus oolong been remarked that tho ago is one
of “ nostrums uud nostrum-venders,” that wo
liardlv dare'recommend a vulnablo discovery in
the Medicul Science, lest we jeopardize our repu
tation for incredulity and consistency; hut in this
Distance we hesitate not to hazard tho remark
which wo have made ubovo.—Hartford Rccieio.

The following is an extract from a letter recei

Messrs. Sands: Gentlemen—From what 1 have
experienced, and from the information I have re

respectability who havo used your Sarsaparilla,
I have not the least doubt but ll.ut it is a most val

STtAYLOR’S BALSAM^~L1VEIU
WORT.—That this medicine should ac
quire so tmfcfi 1’6‘ttirifety is not tit ull sfr'uhge when
we take into consideration the vast number that
aro cured by its use. For many years it bus
proved so astonishingly successfitlut the North, that
nearly every faimfy retain it iil'their house as an
tidote to colds, coughs and consumption.
That no other article possesses the sinne merits
is equally tfne, and the consumptive learns that
lie cun depend upon this medicine when all others
have proved worthless. There is notu doubt hut
thousands afe yearly cured by thfs inestimable
medicine, nnd in many instances where those
given up to die, nave in a n inc’dible short time been
entirely cured by its unrivalled efficacy. The fol
lowing remarkable case of consumption was
cured by this Balsam of Liverwort.. As you
value life and health and would be cured, at once
resort to this article, and rest assured you will not
resort in vain—but read and judge for yourself:
Interesting cure of Consumption and Liter
Complaint.—I had a . violent cdugli, with*raising
of phlegm, a severe pain in my side, back,
stomach, and across my bowels. 1 was so cold at
times, it seemed impossible to keep warm, even
when others were complaining of the (teat, and
my skin was very yellow. I fell away to skin and
hones, my veins sunk in and became invisible, and
every person supposed me dying. A friend of
mine recommended me to try Dr. Taylor’s Balsam
of Liverwort, which I got. as my physician did
memo good, and this medicine soon restored
me to good heultli dgaiu.
J. K.VVANAOn,
Ship Carpenter, 640 Water-street.
Although thousands nre cured by Dr. Taylor’s
Balsam of Liverwort, and as many still die of that
futul malady, the cause is plain, noglecl your first
symptoms, mid then trifle with things of no use
until it is too late, deuth follows. But every
one can be cured if they will. Take this medi
cine at the first approach of the insidious foe, and
you will be easily cured. Yet this medicine has
cured consumption iu advanced stages, as the
testimonials below will prove. But the surest
way is not to defer, as “delays aro always dan
gerous.”
Consumption Cured.—My 6ori having a violent
cold, used to cough violently, raising quantities
of thick putrid matter, and finally he could not
turn over in bed, from weakness. He manifest
ed every symptom of confirmed consumption.
Fo/'O years lie lmd been subject to the asthma.
His physicians, Drs. Vermoule und Anderson,
said he was incurable and must soon die. ,Yct I
was determined to try Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of
Liverwort nud strange ns if may appear, this
medicine has fully restored his health.
Sophia Gallon, 14 Norfolk-st.
Asthma Cured.—I have suffered from the
Asthma a very long, time, and have used every
medicine I could obtuin for its cure in vain, until
I tried Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort. This
medicine has afforded me most manifest benefit,
