to those about to become Mothers.—Professor
ALEXIS V. PAULITAN, of the,Paris Lying-iu

France, Corresponding Secretary of the Paris
Piiarnmcentical College, respectfully begs leave
td announce to tlio Ladies of America, that he
has appointed I)r. Jerome Y. C. Ropenhurty,
of Now York, his sole American Agent, for the
sale of his wonderful niediqine, known in France
as The VYlfe^Friend, or Mother’s Assistant tho
most extraordinary medical discovery the world
has ever seen. Its province is tp. Lessen the
PuinS of Child-Birth, and promote a safe, easy,
and speedy delivery, which it does by assisting
nature. It is perfectly harmless, efficacious,
pleasant to the taste, mid never fails to promote
an easy and safe delivery, andimprovbs the gen
eral health of both mother and child. It has been
tested for years in all the principal Lying-Inllos-
pitals of Europe, orld receives the snuction of
nearly ail the!promiuent Colleges aiid Medical
meifof the old world. It is thegreutesliuei|icine
iu the World ; as ull will admit, that u medicine
must he that will lessen the terrible pains usually
ntteudanton childbirth. Thorp, is no mistake a-
bout this medicine doing nil tlratis said of it.
It never fails. It is in the form of a line, light
powder, to be iriude into a drink, aiid used for a
few weeks previous to the bxpeefed event, and
its price is so low as to bring St within the reach
of all. Surely no humane husbutid will suffer
his wife to endure pain, when it can be so easily
and chenply avoided. Tfir the small siiiii of mHy

the ears of many, nevertheless, u those persons who had
been healed of sore diseases, and saved from doath, pro

This time list come, the means are supplied; this
GRAND AND UNEQUALLED PREPARATION
is ninnufnctnred on the largest scale, and Is called for
throughout the fength and hreadth ofthe lend, especially
as It Is found Incapable of degeneration or deterioration.
Unlike young 8. P. Townsend’s, U Improves with age, and
never changes, hut for the better; because It Is prepared os
icientifie principles by a scientific man. The highest knowl
edge of Chemistry, and the latest discoveries of the art,
have all been brought Inin requisition in the manufacture
of the Old Dr’s Sarsaparilla. The 8arsnparilla root. It is
well known to medical men, contains many medicinal pro
perties; and mine properties which are inert or useless, and
others, which if retained In preparing It for use, prodaeo
fermentation end acid, tVhlch is Injurious to the system.
Some of the properties of Sarsaparilla are to volatile, that
they entirely evaporate and are lost in the preparation, if
they are not preserved by a scientific'process, known only
to those experienced in. iu manufacture. Moreover, these
volalilt principles, which fly otf In vapor, or as an exhala
tion. Under heat, are the very essential mtdicU properties
ofthe root, which elve to It all iu vatu*.
Any person ean boll of stow th* root Ull they get * dans

This is so prepared, that all tho inert prnponles of the
Barsaparllla root are first removed, every thing capable of
becoming acid or of fermentation, is extracted and rejected;
then every imrllplo of medical vlrtuo Is secured in u pure
and concentrated form; and thus ltis rendered incapable of
losing any of its valuable and healing properties Prepared
la ibis way, it is made the most powerful agent In the
Cure of ..innumerable diseases.
