Information Wanted.
I ff the year 1818 the Subscriber was com
pelled to leave his native country, on
business to the West Indies, and placed
his only Son in the hands of an acquaint
ance, for the benefit of .board and school
ing. lie wan left with a man by the name
of Joseph Cannada, living in the city of
N.York, and with the saiu Oanhadu he pin-
ced ’the requisites to support the child for
the space of four years} he returned with
the expectation of finding his child, but
Cannadu had leftNew-York for the South
ern states and had taken.the Boy with him,
without leaving the least knowledge of his
intended abode or residence.
All the knowledge that can be obtained
is, that he left New-Yovk and shipped on
board of a northern schooner bound to Sa
vannah, an.i from thence he went into the
Western part of the state, said to be Wilkes
County or Lincoln, lie left Ncw-York in
the month of October, 1820, and has not
been heard of, although there has been the
greatest ,pains taken to ascertain his place
of abode. It is thought he is in the state
of Georgia or Tennessee.
The said Thomas Cannado is a man of a-
bout dO years of ape, ofdurfc complexion,
black eyes, of good height and aize.
The boy's name, is William 15. Cook, at
tins time ten years of age, of light com
plexion ana blue eyes.

by mail, addressed to the subscriber ai

will be thankfully received by a distressed

T HE Managers of the Savannah Poor-
house and Hospital, having ascertain
ed that the Institution cannot be carried on
under present circumstances j the receipts
not being equal to tho expenditures, but
showing a large probable deficiency.
Resolved, 'That the Establishment will
close on the 1st May, and that no others
than pay patients can he received in 'he
interum, and that the above be published
in the Gazettes of the city.
