WAREHOUSE first built by himself, and hy
an Act of the Legislature of 1821, intended
to be a Public Warehouse, in Hamburg, for
the STORAGE of COTTON and TOBAC
CO. A Tobacco inspection lo bo kept
therein. This Warehouse, for convenience
nnd safely from fire, if not superior, is inferior
to nono in this part ofthc country. It is BOO
feet in length nnd 50 feet in width, with a
plunk floor—situated in tho centre of the
Town, on tho hank of tho Savannah River,
and within 100 feet of tho stream. Tlin
other three sides are hounded by streets, one
of 1G0 feet, one of 100 feet and one of80 feet.
Two platforms will extend from tho Ware
house to the river; so that Cotton will ho
put on Boats without. touching tho ground,
except when the river is very low.

If John Williamson and his colleagues want
a town, lot them do ns I have done—build one.
I will however, accept of all their spare
change to help along the accomplishment of
that grout undertaking: but the Town they
shall never lmve. I built it tor myself; not
for them. And if l had the abilities nnd per
severance to build a Town, they will find that
1 have abilities and perseverance enough
to take care of it.

facilities in the manufacture,” (for there are
no other “facilities” at present in this city,
than tliero woro 12 years ago, when typo were
from 40 to 50 por cent higher than at pre
sent,) nor have tho “materials used in maxing
printing types beun so greatly reduced,” as to
bear any proportion to tho reduction in the
prices of type. But the reduction has been
“induced” by competition, nnd an overhear
ing disposition in some of those founders wiio
have grown rich on tho heretofore profits on
typo.
All sizes of type, plain and ornamental, for
hook and job printing, from 14 lines Pica to
NonparicI, constantly on hand in such quan
tity as to supply uny order at short notice.—-
In tho choice of Book letter, pains havo been
taken to select such faces os are generally un
proved for symmetry, neatness and durabili
ty.
He also keeps a complete Printer’s Wnrt*-
House, (tho only one in this city,) nnd can
furnish a complete Printing Officeut very short
notice.
