If John Williamson and his colic ague a want a town, let them do as I have done—build one. I will however, accept of nil their spare change to belli along the accomplishment, of that, great undertaking; but the Town they shall never have. I built it for myself; not for them. And if I had tho abilities and per severance to build a Town, they will find that I have ubilitios und perseverance enough to take care of It. I am proud to say that the Hamburg merchants lmvc supplied themselves this sea son with more goods of nil lands titan at any already opened- others will open very shortly. The usual spirited disposition prevails to give ns hereto, fore, at least us much, if not more, for COTTON, than in any other city or town in the up country. As for money! none will be countenanced unless it is founded on a solid basis; and should any other be tuken in the market, or should any monied institution in which the market and country lire interested, go be yond what might he considered just mid pru dent, immediate notice of it will be ghen, without fear or favor. Under all these favorable circumstances I am induced to hope that the community and country generally, will find it to* their interest to favor its with their custom.
