A Tobacco inspection to bo kept therein. This Warehouse, lor convenience and safety from fire, if not superior, is inferior to none in this part of tho country. It is 600 feet in length and 50 feet in Width, with a plank floor—situated in tho contro of tho Town, on the bank of the .Savannah River, and within 100 feet of the stream. Tho other three sides are hounded by streets, one of 160 feet, one of UR) feet and one of 80 feet. Two platforms will extend from tho Ware house to the river; so that Cotton will ho put. on Bouts without touching tho ground, except when the river is very low. The usual spirited disposition prevails 1 o give as hereto fore, at least us much, if hot more, for COTTON, than in any other city or town in the up country. As lor money, none will he countenanced unless it is founded on a solid basis; and should any other he taken in the market, or should any monied institution in which the market and country are interested, go be yond what might ho considered Just aud pru dent, immediate notice of it will he given, without tear or lhvor. His prices though low, will of coukc ho the same as others in the same business Nor will lie attempt to violate truth, or insult com mon sense, by pretending to uny “increased facilities in the manufacture,” (for there arc no other “facilities” ut present in this city, than there wore 12 years ago, when type wore from 40 to 50 per cent higher than at pre sent,) nor have tho “materials used in making printing types been so greatly reduced,” as to bear any proportion to tho reduction iu the prices of type. But tho reduction 1ms been “induced” by competition, and an overbear ing disposition in some of those founders who have grown rich on the heretofore profits on typo. „ All sizes ot type, plain and ornamental, for hook and job printing, from 14 lines Pica to Nonpariel, constantly on hand in such quan tity as to supply any ordnr at short notice.— In the choice of Book letter, j)uins have been taken to select such faces ns are generally ap proved for symmetry, noutness and durabili ty.
