Baltimore. County, Feb. 14th 1829.
Gentlemen—I feu! it my duty to acknowl
edge the great benefit 1 have derived from tho
use of De La Mnntural’s Columbian Vegcta-
blo Specific. 1 do not like to speak of the
Medicine in the exalted terms in which I esti
mate it, I will, therefore,as briclly as possible,
give a history of my own situation, with tho
effects produced by this valuable medicine.—
1 have been, for the last five or six years, la
boring under a pulmonary Consumption, pro
nounced to bo such by the uttendmg physi
cian, during which time I hnvo consulted
many physicians, taken much medicine, but
all to but little purpose. Tho 12th of March,
1828,1 puked blood for tho first time, and con
tinued so to do for several duvs in succession,
and on the Mih oftho sumo month was con-
lined to my bud, where 1 lay for .two mouths
until I was reduced to such aslato of debilitv,
that iny friends began to despairof my recove
ry. I had made uso also of all tho popular
remedies without benefit, and having acciden
tally hoard of this Specific,! determined to
give it a trial, anticipating from tho uso of it,
no better result than had attended tlm uso of
all the remedies I laid taken; but in this 1 was
happily disappointed. At niv very lowest
state 1 commenced tho use of this Specific.—
I took the first dose at night in a little herb tea,
sweetened, which threw mo in a gontle per
spiration and procured for me a good night’s
rest. I continued to take the niodiciifr* ns di
rected, and in about live days my cough was
completely stopped and hove not had any re
turn since. 1 am now perfectly satisfied of
tho superior rpmlity oftliis Specific- over every
other medicine offered for the cure of tho
above disease. You are at liberty to use t his
letter in any way you may think proper
Yours respectfully,
