R AN AWAY from tho subscriber, living in
Frankln county, Geo. on the 5th Sept,
last, a negro man, BILL, commonly called
BUCK, about 30 years of age, and about 5
feet six inches high, very black, nnd impudent
in his Speech, lie also carried with him a
negro woman named FAN, his wife. Fan is
rather yellow complnxioncd; she generally
wears long hair, and commonly wears combs
in her hair. They carried a considerable
quantity of clothes with them. It is expected
that they have a pass, but if they have it is
forged. It is expected that they will aim for
Augusta, Savannah or Charleston, as the fel
low went to Augusta about 8 months ago,
with a pass in iny name though a forged one.
I will give the above reward for the negroes,
with sufficient proof to convict any person or
persons of niding, assisting, or harbouring
them, or $30 for the fellow, delivered to mo
or lodged in any safe Jail, so that I mnv get

The Savannah Steam Rice Mill.
T HIS establishment commenced opera
tions for tho season, tho beginning of
this month, und having beat all the old Rico
on hand is now in complete order for the re*
ception of the new crop, having plenty of
room and separate bins for each lot. Tho
mill will wo kept going night and day as soon
as the supply will warrant it—It is now ascer
tained that from 80 to 100 barrels can bo
cleaned in the 24 hours “the engine and ma*
chinery being first rate” so that planters
sending rice to this mill may calculate within
a few days when they can receive it ready for
market. The mill will furnish barrels when
ever required at 87£ cents each, nnd will land
rough rice from the deck of vessels at £ a ct# per
bushel. The proprietors have erected on tho
premises a range of very secure and fire proof
brick buildings covered with slate for tho pur
pose of storing rice when required, by winch
the owner of it, may avoid the expense of
drayages, &c. and preserve its good order for
readier sale. Notice will be given the Fac
tor when the parcel for him is commenced,
that he may determine in time, to have it stor
ed, or receive it from the mill as soon as beat.
In case it is not taken away when turned out
of the mill, it will be put. into store and tho
usual charge made of 6 cents per weok. A
constant supply of small rice and rice flour
always on hand for sale in largo or small

boat. She is intimately acquainted with most
of tlio boat hands on tho river, nnd is cunning
and artful. She was heard of having a kind
of freo pass, und also a pass said to lie well
dictated, giving her liberty to litre her own
time. Owners and musters of vessels are
forewarned from taking her out of tho State,
and all persons arc notified against harbouring
or employing her. The above reward will be
paid| for her delivery in any jail so I got her.
