the discovery of this invaluable medicine,
numbers hive experienced its salutary and
happy effects.—Its mild and gentle operations
are much extolled by those who have used it.
In till cases of coughs, colds, asthmas, mid
other consumptive tiilbctions, by the uso of
this article they have been enabled to defeat
an enemy whoso attacks would otherwise
have been followed hy the most ulanning con
sequence. This specific. has relieved and
cured the must violent cases in which other
medicines have tailed to give any relief. It
operates hy gentle expectorations aud may
be given to infuts and children with the great
est safety.
Do Lti Montorat’s Columbian Vegetable
Specific has stood the test of experience ami
proved itself the most valuable remedy ever
discovered tor the euro of Consumption and
Pulmonary affections of every kind.
Tho following certificates, just received
from highly respectable gentlemen will show

Baltimore. County, Feb. 14th 1829.
ficntlemen—I feel it my duty to acknowl
edge t he great benefit I have derived from the
use of Do I»a Montorat’s Columbian Vegeta
ble Specific. I do not like to speak of the
Medicine in tho exalted terms in which I esti
mate it, I will, therefore, ns briefly as possible,
give a history of my own situation, with the
effects produced by this valuable medicine.—
I have been, lor tho last five or six years, la
boring under a pulmonary Consumption, pro
nounced to bo such by the attending phvsi-
cian, during which time I have consulted
many physicians, taken much medicine, hut
all to but little purpose. Tho 1.2th of March,
1823,1 puked blood for the first time, and con
tinued so to do for several days in succession,
and on the 14th of the same month was con
fined to my lied, where I lay for two months
uutil I was reduced to such a state of debility,
that my friends began to despuirof iny recove
ry. I had made uso also of all tho popular
remedies without benefit, and having acciden
tally heard of this Specific, I determined to
give it. a trial, anticipating from the use of it,
no better result thun had attended tho uso of
all the remedies I hud taken; but in this I was
happily disappointed. At my very lowest
state I commenced tho uso of this Specific.—
I took the first dose at night in a little herb tea,
sweetened, which threw me in a gentle per
spiration and procured for mo a good night’s
rest. I continued to take the medicine os di
rected, and in about five days my cough was
completely stopped and have not had any re
turn since. Iain now perfectly satisfied of
tho superior quality of this Specific over every
other medicine offered lbr the euro of the
above disease. You uro at liberty to use this
loiter in oily \vny you MM think I’roiwr—

Baltimore, Feb. 19th, 1829
I, Joseph N. Ruckle, do hereby certify, that
for upwards of six months, I was severely uf-
flieted with a pain in my breast, acc&mpaincd
with a very bad cough and shortness of breath,
and every indication (in tho opinion of a phis-
iclan) of approaching consumption; fitter
having been persuaded hy my parents, I was
induced to make trial of Do La Monterat’s

three bottles completely restored mo to healt h.
