Gentlemen—l feel it my duty to eeknowl.
edge t he groat benefit I have derived from tile
use of Do La Monterot’s Columbian Vegeta
ble Specific. I ilo not like to speak o? the
Medicine iii tho exalted terms in which I esti
mate it, I will, therefore, as briefly as possible,
give 11 history of my own situation, with tlio
effects produced by tills valuable medicine.—
I have been, for the last five or six years, la
boring under n pulmonary Consumption, pro
nounced to lie such by the attending physi
cian, ilurin,g which time I have consulted
many physicians, taken much medicine, but
all to but little purpose. Tho 12th of March,
1828,1 puked blood for tho first time, and con
tinued so to ilo for several days in succession,
and on the 14th oftlio same month was con
fined to my bed, where I lay for two months
until I was reduced to aueh a state of debility,
that lay friends began to deapnirofmy recove
ry. I flail made use also of all tho popular
romcdics without benefit, nnd having acciden
tally hciinl of this Specific, I determined to
givo it a trial, anticipating from tho use of it,
1IO better result than hml attended tho uso of
all the remedies I had taken j but in this I was
happily disappointed. At my very lowest
stutc I commenced tho use of this Specific.
I took tho first dose at night in a little herb tea,
sweetened, which throw mo in a gentle per
spiration and procured for mo a good night’s
rest. I continued to take tho medicine as di
rected, nml in about five days my cough was
completely stopped and have not hod any re
turn since. I mn now perfectly sntisfied of
the superior quality of this Specific over every
other medicine offered for the euro of tho
above disease. You nro at liberty to use this
letter in any way you may think proper.—
You™ respectfully,
