importance in the medical world, that by your

Dc la Montorats Columbian
Vegetable Specific for tho cure of Con

Blood, and Pulmonary a flections of every
kind—tho most valuable remedy over dis
covered for the euro of consumptions and
all diseases of tho breast and lungs leading
to consumpt ions.
rpo ALL AFFLICTED with those iron
JL blesoine affections, an immediate use of
this highly celebrated Specific is only neces
sary to convince the most incredulous of its
possessing qualities superior to any other
medical preparation yet discovered. Since
the discovery of this invaluable medicine,
numbers have experienced its salutary ami
happy effects.—Its mild aud gentle operations
»ire much extolled by those who have used it.
In nil cases of coughs, colds, asthmas, and
other consumptive affections, bv tho use of
this article they have been enabled to defeat
an enemy whose attacks would otherwise
huvo been followed by tho most alarming con
sequence. This specific lias relieved and
cured the most violent cuses in which other
medicines have failed to give any relief. It.
operates by gentle expectorations and may
bo given to infats and children with the great-
cst safety.
Do La Montorut’s Columbian Vegetable
Specific has stood the tost of experience and
prevail itself tho most vuluablo remedy over

Pulmonary affections of every kind.
Tho following certificates, just roceivcd
from highly respectable gentlemen will show
its value:
Baltimore. County f Feb. 14th 1829.
Gcntlc/nm—I feel it my duty to acknowl
edge the great benefit I have derived from the
use of I)o La Montcrat’s Columbian Vegeta
ble Specific. I do not like to speak of tho
Medicine in the exalted terms in which I csti.
mate it, I will, therefore, as briefly as possible,
give a history of ’my own situation, with the
effects produced by this vuluablo medicine
I have been, for tho lost five or six years, la
boring under a pulmonary Consumption, pro.
nounccd to be such by the attending physi
cian, during which time I havo consulted
many physicians, fakeu much medicine, but
all to but little purpose. Tho 12th of March,
1828,1 puked Mood for the first time, and con
tinued so to do for soverul days in succession,
aud ou the 14th oftho samo month was con
fined to my bed, where I lay for two months
until I was reduced to such a state of debility,
that my friends began to despair of my recove
ry. I had made use also of all tho papular
remedies without bonefit, and having acciden
tally heard of this Specific, I determined to
givo it a trial, anticipating from the use of it,
no better result than lmd attended tho uso of
all tho remedies 1 had taken; but in this I wus
happily disappointed. At my very lowest
statu I commenced tho uso of this Specific
I took the first dose ut night in a little herb tea,
sweetened, which threw mo in a gentlb 1 per
spiration and procured for mo a good night’s
rest. I continued to tako the medicine ns di
rected, and in about five days my cough was
rnrnpictcly stopped* and have not had any re
turn since. I am now perfectly satisfied of
the superior quality of this Specific over every
other medicine .offered for the cure’ of tho
above disease. You are at liberty to use this
letter in any way you may think proper.—
Yours respectfully,
(Signed,) JOHN R. ELLICOTT,
Baltimore, Feb. 19/A, 1829
I, Joseph N. Ruckle, do hereby certify, that
for upward* of six months, I was severely .af
flicted with a pain in my breosj, acoom(piped
with a vory bad cough and shortness of breath,
and every indication (in the opinion ofaphts-
ician) of approaching consumption ; after
having been persuaded by my parents, I was
induced to make trial of Do La Monterat’a
Colombian Vegetable Specific, nnd tho use of
throo bottles completely restored mo to health.
