Cotton.--'The operation* in this article since our
review of the litiiut., havo born limited; nud wo
have no new feature to notice in the market, except
that in the finer aorti, the asking prices of the pre-
viou* week were obtained, Tho operations have
been confined to purchase* for Northern account, and
•peculators, who, however, have operated but to a
limited extent. The prevailing prices havo driven
European dealers from tho murkot, for to buy at
present rates, when compared with those current on
the other tide at the last advices, would he a loosing
business to all concerned. Thera were several of
tbia class of buyer*, as well as some with limited
orders for the home trade, looking round yesterday,
failing, as it were, tiie pulse of tlm murkot; but hoi
tiers, in consequence of the limited stock actually on
sale, would nut submit to a reduction in prices. The
transactions of the week comprise 3256 bales, as
follows—7 at 81; 25 at 9; 170 at 9J; 142 at 9|; 361
at 9J; 141 atD|, 463 at 9), 156 at 9 7-8,364 at 10;

do from 18 to 20 cts per lb.
Rice.—The rice muaket has alia been rather qui
el—the sales however, have been at the full prices
of tho previous week. About 1200 tierces worn dis
posed ofat the following prices:—178 nt 2?; 2G0at
2?; 205 at 2 15*16 ;306 ut 3; 135 ut 3 Mb'; 35 at

100.
Rough Rice.—The sales of the week reach 20,-
000 bu.ticU, ai prices ranging from 75 to 81) cents
per bushel. The bulk of the operations at tho latter
price.
Grain.—Tho leceipts of Corn for the week have
been about 5301) hundred bushels from North Coro
Una, and 1301) bushel* from Virginiu—the whole of
which changed bunds within quoted rates, 54n55c.
per bushel. No Outs, I'ens or Huy havo been re
ceived dining tho week. Our quotations for these
articles are consequently nominal.
Flour.—Tho demand for all descriptions of this
article continues limited. About 200 bis Bultimoro
Howard st. have been sold ut prices ranging from 5?
to 5?; superior Virginiu from tho wharf hus been
selling in small lot*, at $6 j per bbl.
Bacon—The market for this article is very dull.
Lard.—In small lots to the retail trade, has
brought 9 und 10 cent* per lb.
Salt.—'Very little has been donn in tills article
during the week. Several small lots coarse Liver
pool, have been sold to the country trade ut $ 1,25a
130 per »i«iki
Sugars.—Our Sugar markot has been very quiet
throughout the week. Louisiana in small lots hn*
commanded (iI to 7? cts. per lb, About 70 hhds.
Porto Rico havo been been taken by tho grocers, at
9, 9? ct*. per lb. It»cuived this week from the West
India* 85 hhds.—Go bones and 40 half boxes, und
25 hbds. coastwise.
Cofft fe.—*The receipts of tho week hove been 474
bags Rio, coastwise, which lias been sold at prices
ranging from 11? to 11 )c pur lb. We have no ope
rations in Cuba to report.
Molasses.—There hus been a speculative demand
for this article, particularly New Orleans, about 400
bbls. of which have been taken ut prices not made
public. Other parcels, however, hnvu been sold at
the followjug rates, 26 a 271 fur hhds and 28 and
29 cents per gallon for bbls. We quote old Cuba

Obtained for a lot. A lot of 136 hhds of tllUde

highest bid, it was withdrawn.
