Yestonday morning tho fine ship Banshee, Captain Wilson, Bailed from thl* portion Liberia. She has been chartered for the voyage oufby tho Chesapeake and Liberia Transportation Company, and is to be discharged at Cape Palmas, the Maryland Company. One hundred and seventeen emigrant* embarked on board of tho Banshee at this port, of whom fifty-two were from Maryland, and were sent out by tlw Mary land Stato Colonization Society. Thirty-seven were from Virginia, six from Massachusetts, six from In diana, five from tho Choctaw Nation, five from Ken tucky, three from Pennsylvania; two from Ohio, and one from New York. These latter were Bent out by tbe American Colonization Society. The Banshee will proceed hence to.Hampton Roads, where she is to receive on board one hundred and ten more passenger*, who are also sent out by tbe Ameri can Colonization Society. Of these, fifty-six are from North Carolina, and fifty-four from Virginia. She also carries out a considerable quantity of freight, mainly on account of the several Missionary Socie ties. Tho emigrants who embarked on board of her at tills port appeared all to be in excellent condition, nnd we understand that there are among them sever al men of much promise, who itiu expected will make decidedly useful member* of society in tho land of their adoption. Among tho number we noted Thomas Fuller, Jr., who visited Liberia a year or two since at thu instance of a colored colonization society at Cambridge, Dor chester county, Maryland, and on hi* return published a very interesting and favorable journal of bis travels. All the emigrants are well supplied with clothing. Jcc., and the ship la amply provided with the ne cessaries and comforts during the voyage. Alto gether this expedition is the largest that has over yet left this port for Liberia, and from the character of the emigrants generally, it is well calculated to pro mote the Interest* of the colonies.
