A BILL, to be entii led an Ordinance to divide the city
into four Dispensary Districts, to provide for the elec
tion of a Dispensary Physician for each of raid districts,
and to declare tbe duties and fix the compensation of each
Dispensary Physician.
Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of the
city of Sarannah and hamlets thereof in Council assembled,
and it I* hereby ordained by the authority of the same,
that front and after the passage of this ordinance, the city
be. and it is hereby divided into four Dispensary District*,
the first to embiace all that part of the city bounded on
the north by the Savannah river, on the east by Jefferson-
street continued to the river, on the south by South Broad-
street and WUUam-atrtet. and on the west by the corporate
limits ; thr second to embrace all that part of tho city
bounded on the north by tbe river, on the east by the cor
porate limits, on the south by South Broad-street continu
ed to the corporate limits, and on the west by Jefferson at.
continued to the river ; the third to embrace all that part
of the city bounded on the north by William street and
South Broad-street,on the east by Jetfersoo-itreet continu
ed to the corporate limits, on tbe south by tbe corporate
limit*, and on the west by tbe corporate limits ; and the
fourth to embrace all that part of the city bounded on the
north by South Broad-street continued to the corporate Urn-
Its. on the east by the corporate limits, on tbe south by

See. 2. Be It further ordained by tha authority aforesaid.
That there shall be elected at the first regular meeting of
Council after the passage of this ordinance, and annually
thereafter on tba first regular meeting in January, a Dis
pensary Physician for eaeb of raid districts, whose dnty It
■hall be to furnish tbe destitute sick within tbe limits of
his district with necessary medicines, to give them medical
and surgical advice and attention, to visit them at their
place* of abode when necessary, on every Monday and
Thursday, to attend in perron, or by competent substitute,
oetween the hours of 10 o'clock, A. M and 1 P. M., for con
sultation with out-door parties, and to keep always* com
petent supply of vaccine matter for vaccinating \hepoor
and to be furnished physicians, tbe latter to pay a reason*
bie and proper price therefor, and to fill all prescriptions
signed by any member tf the Georgia Medical Faculty,
provided each of »uch sprescriprions shall set forth the
name of the patient and embrace* certificate that the pa
tient reside* within tbe district of the Dispensary Physician
to whom It Is addressed.
Sec. 3. Beit further ordained br the authority aforesaid.
That the raid dispensary Physicians shall be considered,
held and taken as officer* of the city, and shall be liable to
the same penalties for non-performane* or neglect of any
of their official duties as are now prescribed in the case of
other city officers.

That such IMspen**rr Physician before entering on the du
ties of bis office shall take the oath prescribed for city offi.
cer*. and execute a bond with two securities In the penal sum
of one thousand dollar*.conditional for the faithful perfonn-
