thereafter on the first regular meeting in July, a Dis
pensary Physician for each of said districts, whose duty It
shall be to furnish the destitute sick within tlio limits of
ids district with necessary medicines, to give them medical
and surgical advice and attention, to visit them at their
places of abode when necessary, to attend in person, or
by competent substitute, at tholr offices on every Monriny
and Tlmrsduy, between tho hours of 10 o’clock A. M nud 1
o’clock. P. 31., for consultation with out-door patients, and
to keep always a competent supply of vaccine matter for
vacclupting the poor and to turnlsh pliystciuns. the lat
ter to pay a reasonable and proper price therefor.
Sec. 3. Be it further ordained by the authority aforesaid,
That the said dispensary Physicians shall bo considered,
held and tnken as officer * of the city, and shall he liahlo to
the same penalties for non-performance or neglect of any
of tholr official duties as are now prescribed In the cu
other city officers.
See. 4.’ Be it furthor ordained by tho authority aforesaid.
That such Dispensary Physician before entering on the du
ties of Iris office shall take tlio oath prescribed for city offi.
cers. and execute a bond with two securities in the penal sum
of oue thousand dollars.conditional for iho faithful pprfonn-
anco of tlio duties of ills ofllco. Each Dispensary Physician
shall receive In full compeusation for medicines nud ser
vices, a salary of six huudred dollars per annum, payable
monthly.
