shall tie qualified to rote at elections for Mayor and Alder
men of the city of Savannah and tint hamlet* thereof, who
are elUsennof the United Btate*. have resided In tho Btate
of Georgia for one year Immediately preceding tlio election
and within the corporate limits of Savannah for ono month
immediately preceding their registration, and continue so
to do op to Uiotlmo or eleotion. who have attained the age
of twenty-one years, hare paid all city taxes or haveTn
their own right sufficient real estate to satisfy any tax exe
cutions which may be against them, who have mads all re-
turn* required by the ordinances of the city, andhavo been

A BILL, to be entitled an Ordinance to divide the city
Into four Dispensary Districts, to provide for the elec
tion of a Dispensary Physician for each of said districts,
and to deelure the duties and fix tho compensation of each
Dispensary Physician:
Sec. 1. Be It ordained by tho Mayor nnd Aldpmicn of the
city of Savannah aud hamlet* thereof in Council assembled,
aud it is hereby ordained by the authority of the same,
That front and after the passngo of this ordinance, the city
bo, and it is hereby divided Into four Dispensary Districts,
tho first to embrace all that part of tho city bounded on
the north by the Savannah river, on the east by Jefferson-
street continued to the river, on the south by South Broad-
street and William-street, nnd on the west by the corporate
limits ; the second to embrace all that part of the city
bounded on tho north by the river, on tlio cast by tho cor
porate limit*, on the south by South Broad-street continu
ed to the corporate limits, and on the west by Jefferson-st.
continued to tho river ; the third to embrace all that part
of the city bounded on the north by William street nnd
South Broad-6treet,pntheeast by Jelferson-slreet continu
ed to tho corporate limits, on tho south by the corjHirato
limits, nnd on the west by the corporate limits ; and the
fourth to embrace all that part of the city bounded on tho
north by South Broad-street continued to the corporate lim
its. on the east by the corporate limits, on the south by
tho corporate limits.and on the west liy Jefferson-street con
tinued to tho corporate limits.
Sec. 2. Be It further ordained by the authority aforesaid.
That there shall bo elected at the first regular meeting of
Council after the passage of this ordinance, and annually
thereafter on the first regular meeting In July, a Dis
pensary Physician for each of said districts, whose duty it
shall lie to furnish tho destitute sick within the limit* or
his district with necessary medicines, to giro them medical
nnd surgical advice and attention, to visit them at their
places of abode when necessary, to attend in person, or
by competent substitute, at their offices on every Monday
and Thursday, between tlio hours of 10 o'clock A. 51. nnd 1
o’clock. P. 51., for consultation with out-door patients, and
to keep always a competent supply of vaccine matter for
vaccinating the poor and to lurnish physicians, the lat
ter to pay a reasonable nnd proper price therefor.
Sec. 3. Be it further onlalned by the authority aforesaid.
That the said diajwnsary Physicians shall be considered,
held nnd token ns officer) of tho city, and shall be liable to
tho same pcnulties for non-performance or neglect of any
of their official duties as aro now prescribed in the com) of
other city officers.
Sec. 4. Bo it further ordained by tho authority aforesaid.
That such Dispensary Physician before entering on the du
ties of his office shall take thu oath prescribed for city offl.

Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the Mayor nnd Aldermen of the
city of Savannah nnd tbobumlct* thereof, in Council ns
semblcd. and it Is hereby ordained by the authority of tho
same. That from and after the passing of this ordinance,
the provisions of the nbore nulled ordinance be soaniond-
ed and extended *s to prevent bulls, cows. oxen, calves and
other cattle running at Large within the following limits,
viz: Guiunct.street on the south, prolonged east nnd west
to the extended incorporate limits of Die city of Savannah
and the hamlets thereof; the Savannah river on the north
and the corjiorate limits of the city of Savannah on the
east and west.

same, that from nnd after the 13th day of June 1853, tho
pay of each City Constable slmll be four hundred dollars

Sec. 10. Bo It further erdnlnod, That it shall not lie law
ful for any cow. steer, heifer or calf to bo or go at large
within the limits of the city, from the setting of the sun to
tlio rising of tlio same ; nnd the owners of such rattle so
found at Urge, shall forfeit and pay n sum not exceeding
five dollars for each and every time any such animal shall
be found at large ; and it shall be the duty of the City 5lar-
dial nnd City Constable* to take such cattlo so found at
largo.contrary to the provisions of this ordinance. and im

the animal be not claimed within Hro day*, it shall be tho
