Under the act of Congress, approved 3d Biarch 1853, en-
titled‘‘An act to extend pre-emption rights to certain lands
therein mentioned,” the Pre-emption laws of tho United
States as they now exist aro extended over the alternate
reserved sections of public lands along the line of the rail
road hereinbefore mentioned, where the settlement and im
provements wore made prior to the final allotment of Iho al
ternato sections to the said milro.d. Therefore all claims
by pre-emption tn any of tho alternate sections of public
lauds within tho limits originally reserved will attach, if
predicated upon settlement* made prior te tho 4th February
1853, the dute of tho final allotment.
Claims within the six mites limits must bo proven up at
nny timo beforo the day herein flxod for tho commencement
of public sate, nnd are to bo paid for at tho rate of two dol
lars and fifty cents per ncro. Claims outside of six miles,
and within tho limits of tho original reservation, must bo
proven up prior to tho restoration of said lands to private
entry.
Soldier’s bounty land warrants, at a dollar and twenty-
five cents per acre, may be received In payment for either

and it is hereby ordained by the authority of the samo.

the north by the Savannah river, on the east by Jefferson-
street continued to the river, on the south by South Broad-

bounded on the north by the river, on the east by the cor
porate limits, on tho south by South Bread-street continu

shall he to furnish the destitute sick within the limits of
Ids district with necessary medicines, to give them medical
nnd surgical rnlvice nnd attention, to visit them at their
places of abode when necessary, to attend in person, or
by competent substitute, at tlieir offices on every Bfondny
and Thursday, between the hours of 10 o'clock A. BI. and 1
o'clock.?. M., for consultation with out-door patients, and
to keep always a competent supply of vaccine matter for
vaccinating the poor and to furnish physicians, the lat
ter to pay a reasonable aod proper price therefor.
Sec. 3. Be it further ordained by the authority aforesaid.
That the said dispensary Physicians shall be’considered,
held and taken as officers of the city, and shall be liable to
tho samo penalties for non-performance or neglect of any
of tlieir official duties as are now prescribed in tbe case uf
other city officers.
Sec. 4. Be it further ordained by the authority aforesaid.
That such Dispensary Physician before entering on the du
ties of his office shall take the oath prescribed for city offi.
cars, and execute a bond with two socuritle* in the penal sum
of one thousand dollars.conditional for the faithful perform
ance of the duties of his office. Each Diapen*ary Physician
shall receive in full compensation for medicines and ser
vices, a salary of six hundred dollars per annum, payable
monthly.

passed in Council. February. 1841.
Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the Blayor and Aldermen of the
city of Savnnnnh and tho hamlets thereof, in Council ns
senibled. and it is hereby ordained by the authority of the
same. That from nnd after the passing of this ordinance,
tho provision* of the above recited ordinance be Koamend-
cd and extended as te prevent bulls, cows. oxen, calves and
other cattle running at large within the following limits,
viz: Guinnet-strcet on the south, prolonged east and west
to the extender} incorporate limits of the city of Savannah
