city of Savannah and the hamlets thereof, in Council as
fcinblod. nnd it is hereby ordained by the authority of tiie
same. That from and after tho passing of this ordinance,
the provisions of the above recited oniinanee be so amend
ed and extended aa to prevent bulls.cows.oxen.caivesnnd
other cattlo running nt large within the following limits,
vis: Gulnnet-Htreet on the south, prolnngod east and west
to the extended Incorporate limits of the dty of Savannali
and the hamlets thereof; the Savannah rireron tlm north
and the corporate limits of the city of Savannah on the
east and weat.

puclic nuisances, and for the prevention, punishment and

Sec. 10. Be it further erdained, That it shall not be law
ful for any cow. steer, heifer or calf to bo or go at large
within tho limit* of the dty. from thp setting of the sun lo
the rising of tho snme; and tiie owner* of snch cattle so
found at large, shall forfeit and pay a enm not exceeding
five dollara for each and evenr time any each animal shall
be found at Urge ; and It shall be the duty of the City Mar
shal and City Constables (o take such cattle so found at
Urge, contrary to the provision* of this ordinance, and Im
pound them until the aald fine and ail cosU are paid, and ir
the animal be not claimed within five days, it shall be the
dntr of the City Marshal to eeU the same at tha pound, first
five days' notice In one of the public gazettes
of the dty of the description of the animal and the time
and place of sale, and he shall pay the nelt proceeds, slier
