will be excluded from sale.
Tho lands will be sold tuMed tn the right of way granted
by the said act of 10th September. 1860, to tho State afore
said, for said railroad, not exceeding one hundred fed on
each sldo thereof; and therefore tho particular tracts ol
land which includo tho road will be sold as containing the
quantities respectively shown by tho official plate.
Each sale will be kept open for a time sufficient to admit
of offering all the lands, but not exceeding two weeks, and
applications to make private entries of tho lands offered un
der this proclamation will not bo received until after tho
close of iho public sale.

withdraunfrom market on account of the railroad grart.
Under tho act of Congress, approved 3d March 1853, en
titled “An set to extend pre-emption rights to certain lands
therein mentioned,” tho Pre-emption laws of tho United
States as they now exist are extended ovor the alternate
reserved sections of public lands along the lino of the rail
road hereinbefore mentioned, whore the settlement and im
provements were luadejrri'nr to the final allotment of tho al
tomato sections to the said ratlro«d. Therefore all claims
by pre-emption to any of the alternate sections of public
lands within ths limits originally reserved will attach, 11
predicated upon settlements made prior to the 4th February
1853, the date of the (Inal allotment.
Claims within tho six miles limits must be proven up at
any time before tho day herein fixed for the commencement
of public sale, and are to be paid for at the rate of two dol
lars and fifty cents per acre. Claims ontslde of six miles,
snd within the limits of the original reservation, mnit be
proven up prior to the restoration of said lands to private
entry.
Soldier’s bounty land warrants, at a dollar and twenty-
fire cents per acre, may be received in payment for either
class of land; one warrant only, however, can be located
by each pre-emption.
Immediately after the close of the publio sale directed
by theforegoingproclamalion of tho President, application*
will be received for tho purchase at private entry, or loca
tion by warrants.of the lands reserved to satisfy this grant
outside of the six miles limits, In such order aa to prevent
confusion snd insure accuracy. In accordance with instruc

In accordance with the provisions of the act of 11th July.
1846. hereinbefore referred to, pre-emption claims will not
be allowed to any of the above mentioned lead mineral
tracts, to be offered at Mineral Point, until after they have
been offered at public sale, and become subject to private
entry. And these tracts will be sold In such legal subdi
visions as will include the mino or mines at not less than
two dollars and fifty cents per acre; and If not sold st pub- {
lie sale at such price, nor shnll bo ontered at private sale
within twelve moths thereafter, the same shall be subject
to sale as other lands.
Tho offering of the above land* will be commenced on the
days appointed, and will proceed In tho order in which they
are advertised, until tlio whole shall have been offered, and
tho sales thus closed; but no sale shall be kept open longer
than two weeks, and no private entry of any of the lands
will be admitted until after the expiration of the two weeks.

Sec. 2. Be it further ordained by the authority aforesaid,
That there shall be elected nt the first regular meeting of
Council after the passage of this ordinance, and annually
thereafter on the first regular meeting in July, a Dis
pensary Physician for each of said districts, whose dnty it
shall bo to furnish the destitute sick within tho limits of
his district with necessary medicines,to give them medical
and surgical advice nnd attention, to Tfoit them at their
C laces of abode when necessary, to attend in person, or
y competent substitute, at their offices on every Monday
and Thursday, between the hours of 10 o’clock A. M. and 1
o’clock. P. M., for consultation with out-door patients, and
to keep always a competent supply of vacclno matter for
vaccinating the poor and to furnish physicians, the lat
ter to pay a reasonable and proper price therefor. '
See. 3. Beit further ordained by the authority aforesaid,
That tho said dispensary Physicians shall be considered,
held and taken as officers of the city, and shall be liable to
tho samo penalties for non-performance or neglect of any
of their official duties as are now prescribed to the case of
other city officers.
Sec. 4. Be it further ordained by the authority aforesaid.

ties of his offico shall take tho oath prescribed for city offi
cers. and executo a bond with two socuriUes In tho nontl sum
of one thousand dollars.condltional for the faithful perform
ance of tho duties of his office. Each Dispensary Physician
shall receive te full compensation for medicines and ser
vices, a salary of six hundred dollars per annum, payable
monthly.

ful for any cow, steer, heifer or calf to be or go at large
within the limlta of the dty, from the setting of the ran to
