on board the Light Vessels in this Collection District, vis;
for the Light Vessel stationed at Tvbee Island knoll, enti
tled to rations for three men. ana to — cords of wood,

Tho proposal must state distinctly tho price for which
tho entire ration will bo fumtshod on board each light
Vessel respectively.
Tho proposals for supplying fool, both coal and wood,
must state distinctly tho prlco per ton or cord, and the
kind and quality of each, to be delivered on board each
Light Vessol respectively.
Ono bidder may bid for all the rations required, or for
each vessol separately, at his option—soparato bids are re
quired for the fuol—the quantity to bo delivered, not often-
er than once a quarter, to be determined by the Inspector
or superintendent.
The contractor will bo required to enter Into bond with
approved security for the faithful execution of the contract,
and no bid will bo accopled or contract entered into, until
appro* —
'The contractor will be required to keep at least, in the
aggregate, ono month's rations for the entire crew of the
Light Vessel contracted for, on board at all times ; and any
expenso incurred on nccount of failure to deliver rations or
fuel in time, will bo chargeable to tho contractor.
No keeper, superintendent, inspector, or other person
connected with tho light houso establishment, will bo al
lowed to contract for or deliver rations lor the crow or fuel
of a Light Vessel.
No contractor.superintendcnt, or Inspector, will be allow
ed to change tho parts of tho ration, nor the times tlmt
may bo determined upon for tho delivery, without authori
ty of the Board.
All tho articles constituting tho ration for the crew of
Light Vessels will be examined, nnd their auality'npproved
by tho Superintendent, or tho Inspector or tho District, or
by such othor person as may be assigned to perforin that
duty, and no bills will bo paid for rations and fuel which
do not bear the proper endursomont of the quality, quanti
