Railroad Accident.
Ualtiuork, Nov. 22.
Tho Fall River Train of last evening, from Boston
for Now York, stopped at Stonington, (Ct.,) to re
pair some datnago sustained by ono of tho whoels.—
Whilo there it was ruu into by tho special train for
Bridgewater, and by the collision five passengers were
serinuBly injured, and others moro slightly. The Rev.
Mr. Potter, of 8. C. bruised about the head, bat Is not
considered seriously wouuded.
A subsequent despatch contradicts the above, and
reports Mr. Potter dangerously injured.

Tho fine side-wheel steamship OSPREY.
Tho Osprey is a side-wheel steamship, built in 1847.
lengthened and re-built in 1850, Is about 186 feet In length,
27 feet beam, and '20 leet depth of hold. By builders’ meas
urement about luOOtun* and regi*tcrs 607 tuns. Has sin
gle engine of 62 inch e> Under, und 7 feet stroke. Has late
ly been supplied with force-pumps, hose,life-boats, lifo-pre-
servers. Ao., according to tbo new law ol Congress, and is in
every respect lu order for continuing on her present line,
or sny otiicr route for which she may be required.
During the past eighteen months nearly forty thousand
dollars have been expended furnishing her with new boil
ers, overhauling machinery, building dining saloon, now
furniture, Ac.
She is fitted up with eighty stateroom berths,and tuo
large Haloou* between decks; and on deck, officers’ room*,
and a dining saloon sixty foot in length, furnished with
Johnson’s patent sofa dining tables, and capable of seating
ono hundred passengers at table. She Is capable of ac
commodating ono hundred nnd fifty first clns* passengers,
and is ubundnntly supplied with bedding, table furniture,
linen, plate, Ac.
She is one of tho most economical sea steamships afloat,
her* consumption of coal being only about twelve tuns in
twenty.four hours.
The Osprey is now running botwcon Philadelphia and
Charleston, snd from which slio has been regularly plying
since February last, during which time she has not missed
a single trip, and has cleared over and above her running
expenses between twelve nnd thirteen thousand dollars.—
Her owners not being In tbc shipping business, nnd haring
run her mostly for tlie benefit of the business of their own
city during the spring and fall trade of this year, in the
hope that those most interested in tho Charleston trade
would have secured her permanently on the line, which not
having been accomplished, they havo now determined .to
sell her peremptorily by public nuclion.

19th Inst., and will leave again for Charleaton on the latter
day, returning to this port again on the 29th Inst., and can
