unchanged since tho receipt of the Asia's news. Rico

New York Street Preaching.
Baltimore, Dec. 18.
A riot was anticipated In New York to-day, grow
ing out of the arrest on Sunday last, of Parsons, a
street preacher, upon the charge of making inflam
matory harangues in tho street. Ho was expected to
preach again to-day, and serious cousequcnceH were
apprehended should he attempt it. Archbishop
Hughes had advised Catholics not to hear him, and
to keep away from the localities where he may preach,
but to defend their church If it is attacked. Tho
.Mayor of the city has issued an. appropriate.procla
