Uy tho section of an net introduced by General
Knight, of Lowndes county, amendatory of the

is in the following words:
And tail further enacted, Tlmt the said Brunswick and

with the assent of any other Railroad Company, by a vote
of thu Hoard of Director* thereof, to consolidate tho stock

tlmt tlio ladies have misi^qdied tho word *‘ levity," I will

lovlty in hor to leave her own littlo principality, for a more
puldic, though not more honorable sphere. I think it
'•heartless levity” in you, ladies, to ihowup the gentlemen
of this country n* laughing stock* to the rest of the world
—I think it cruel in you to give them a lower place s* citi
zen* than you assign to your old •• ninumas.” Even Dolly

psrtici|iate in thu ownership of Mount Vernon, von do not
wish it; you only wish to own it in connection with Dolly.
Now it L very certain that the treasure «( Mount Vernon,
tlmt which makes it consecrated ground, tho sacred relic
which rests there, can nornr be purchased by any class, or
any State,or section ; it i* the inalienable right of the coun
try. ami I doubt nut but that the country will claim its
right to dispose of the sacred trust in an honorable and na
tional manner, In a way that will excite uo sectional jeal
ousies.
But. ladles, when you and Dolly have made the purchase
uf Mount Vernon, how will you disposo of it ? There will
lie a itrnmirment some of these day—tlmt question will bo
settled nt tho next annual meeting of the Woman’s Rights
Convention. I should not wonder if a House of Cm-rection
