In tmr calculations, our asaooiation with Mr. May, in con

only into eery town, r%Uaye und neighborhood in Georgia, but

and steamboat have opened to tho trade of tho City.
The feelings of pride with which Mr. May hax for yearn
contemplated the progress of the Seaport of hlx native

thu cohimna of the S-nUkcni Democrat while uuder hla

be wanting to bring trade to Savannah—especially to those
whose advertisements appenr iu this paper. So that while
an agent for us ho will at thu siiinn time be a most eflluieut
advocate, wherever ho goes, of tho interests of the City,
and of those of its business men whose names appear in
our columns.
The political principles of tho Georgian will of course
continue to be those of tho Democratic school; though
polities will play a part in its columns altogether aubordi-
nate to Its news, business and commercial character. T<

it has already established for the accuracy, fullnoss and
clearness of its cotton tables, cotton statements uml mar
