Tlie great Western Railroad grant lms been killed
in tlie House to-day, by a majority of three votes, tho
question being taken amid much excitement. A de
bate occurred in the Senate on tlie reception of a re
monstrance of 4,000 Eastern Clergymen, against tlio
passage of tlie Nebraska bill.
It is stuted upon what is believed to lie good author
ity, that tlio Cuban ofllcinls have apologised for their
acts relative to tlie steamer Black Warrior, and now
oiler ample compensation in matter. It is believed
ail diflicuities will be adjusted without Congressional
interference.
