Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the Mayor nnd Aldermen of tho
city of Savannah nud the Immlets thereof, in Council us
seinbled. and it i* hereby ordained by the authority of tho
same, that all that part of the city domain lying south of
Gaston street, west of Barnard street, north of Gwinnett
street, and east of Tnttmill street, lie laid off into lot* by
the City Surveyor, under tlio niiperintondence of tho Com
mittee on l’ublic Sale* nnd City Lot*, and bo called Charl
ton Ward.
Sec. 2. Bo it further nrdnined hy tho authority aforesaid,
that the snid lot*, the laying whereof is nlmvo provided for,
be valued iu tlio usual manner, nnd wild iu tlie iisunl man
ner, under tlie direction of tho Committee on Public Sales
and City I,ot8, nt such time or time* as to snid Committee
shall appear expedient and proper. Gio terms of the sale to
ho twenty (20) per cont. cash on tho aggregate of valua

Sec. J. Be it ordained by tho Mayor nnd Aldermen of the
city of Savannah and Hamlet* thereof, in Council assem
bled. nud it is hereby ordained by tho authority of the
same, that from nnd after tlio passing of this ordinance,
it shall lie the duty ol tliekee|«r (T laurel Grove Cemetery
whenever application 1* made ter the deposit of tlio remain*
of any deceased person in snid puldic vault, to require nnd
record, in a book kept caiiecinlly for thnt purpose, the name,
age. nativity, residence or whore brought from, disease and
attending physicimi ; nlso, the time of removal of the saint-
from said vault, nnd tlio disposal thereof made ; and if in
ter; ed In said cemetery he shall record the same as pre
scribed by existing ordinances, but no such remains shall
be admitted into said vault except In air-exhausted cases,
or cases packed in boxes and filled with deodorising ih>w-
der; and ir any deposit in said vault shall at any time bee
so offensive as to interfere with the free use of the snuio

shall pnv over all such fee* ami charge*, when collected, in
to tlie City Treasury ; and no other vnult in said cemetery
shall Ik! used for rent or hire ; and if any person shall he
found receiving rent for the use of hi* or her vault in snid
cemetery, he or she shall, on conviction, be finod in the sum
