Sec. 1. Be It ordained by Hie Mayor nnd Aldermen of the
city of Savannah nnd the hnmh-ts thereof, in Council as-
si-mbled. nnd il is hereby ordained by the authority of tlie
same, that nil that part of tho city domain lying south of
G-i-ti.ii street, west of Ikirnnrd street, north of Gwinnett
street, and east of Tattnall strcot.be laid off Into lots by
the City Surveyor, under tlie superintendence of the Com
mittee on Public Sales nnd City Lots, and be called Charl
ton Ward.
Sec. 2. Be It further ordained by (he authority aforesaid,
that the said lots, tin-laving whereof i* above provided for,
be valued in the usual manner, and sold in the usual innii-

Fee. 3d. And be it further ordained by tbo authority
aforesaid, that whenever the remains of nny deceased per
son shall be left in tlie wild Public Vnull one moiilli.it shall
be tbo duty of the keeper to notify thu friends or person
who applied for the admission of the same, that It must be
removed within the next sixty days; nnd if it Is not remov
ed at tho expiration of that time.it shall bo the duty of said
keeper to have such remains intered In that portion of the
oemelry grounds allotted to strangera. unless soma friend
or relative shall provide a lot for the same.
Sec. 4lh. And ho It further ordained by the authority
nforesaid. that whenever Application is made for the tem
porary deposit of any deceased |icrson in said Public Vault,
which have been long deposited tn any Vault In tho Old
Cemetery, and are inoffensive, Hie said keeper shall admit
Hie snme free from the usual entrance fee. but he shall de
mand und cullort a fee of twenty-five cents a day lor each
snd every case or Ikix for every day thev remain In said
Vnull : all nf which, when collected, shall be i>nld Into the
City Treasury.
Sec. fit li. And ho it further nrdnlnod by tho nuthority
aforesaid, that all ordinances conflicting with the provision!
of Ibis ordinance, be and tlie same are hereby repealed.
