following bill of Lumber, vis :

The Lumber must bo sound, free from large or rotten
knots.crots shakes awl generally of any imperfections which
sill materially affect its strength, arid bo sawed straight
sod true to dimensions. A moderate amount of sap on any
piece will not be objected to; but sticks which are not
clear of bark will be rejected.
The Lumber must he subject lo Inspection and Measure
ment after delivery at Fort Jefferson, by an agent of the
I'uited States, appointed for the purpose. and will not tie
considered as received until sucli inspection nnd measure
ments shall have been made. *
At least 100,000 feet mud be shipped within one month
after tho signing of the Contract, nnd an equal or great'
quantity must be delivered in each subsequent mutilh, till
the whole is furnished.
Payment* will be made on the delivery of each cargr
desired, twenty per cent being, however, deducted fr
each payment! and retained till tire whole is delivered, to
ensure the fullilment of the contract.
