Bee. 1. H* it ordained by the Me) or and Alderman of the
jlty of Aavannah and tho hamlets thereof tn Council as
sembled, and It la hereby ordained by the authority of the
saute, That from and after the passage of this ordinance
every parson who shall thereafter keep within the city of
Savannah or the hamlets thereof, or It. extended Jurisdic
tional limit*, shop, store. bar room, tavern, oyster house or
cellar, ounfectlonery. eating house, portor.alc or beer house,
shall, on every Saturday night at twelve o’clock, close and
keen shut the door or doors, and window ur windows of
such shop, alore. bar room, bar In a or attached to a tav
ern,oyster house or cellar.confectionary,eating hou»o. nor
ter. ale or beer huuae. until the hour of twelve o'clock Hun-

Sec. 'J. He it further ordained by the authority aforesaid.
That no person whatsoever shall exchange, barter, well or
oiler or expose for salo afte- taelvo o’clock on every Satur
day night, and until twelve o'clock Sunday night, auy goods,
wares, merchandize, fruits, herbs, malt, veluous or spiritu
ous liquors, or any other strong drink, or any other thing*
whatsoever, except medicines, ice and milk.
