T HE Commissioners of the Walthourvillo Academy, de
sire to obtain tho services of a competent principal,
for tho school at the above place, which will be opened on
the 1st January next, for the accommodation of as many
scholars as may please to connect themselves with it. Tlie
school will now number about sixty scholars, with every
prospect of increase under efficient management.
The principal will have the control of ail of the depart
ments. with the proceeds of tuition accruing from them.—
He will bo furnished with a ploasant anil capacious resi
dence, embracing eight flno rooms, sufficient for boarding
his assistants nml some pupils from a distance. Ho will
be expected to furnish a female teacher for that depart
ment, subject to the approval of tho Commissioners. The
department of music nan be organized and supplied as Hoon
after the opening of tho school, as tho number of music
scholars can be ascertained
The rates of tuition will be subjected to the approval of
the Commissioners. A small rent for the use of the
buildings, simply sufficient for keeping the grounds and
lots in repair, will be paid annually by tho principal to the
Board.
The Board wilt simply remark, that overy facility for the
establishment of a first-rate Institution, under enterprising
and energetio management, is now afforded. In point of
health, religious, social and moral advantages. Waltbour-
ville is unsurpassed by any place in Georgia, wliilo the
Railroad which will soon pass through the village, will
place it within the easy reach of the surrounding country.
