It is gratifying to the proprietor of these medicines
to be able to Htate that It Is now nearly three yean
since they were first Introduced, during which time
they have been extensively used in various parts of
the United States, and have given to patient and
practitioner tlie highest dogroo of satisfaction in tbe
various cases In which they have been employed;
whether In town, country, hospital or private prac
tice, thoy have Invariably given the most decided
and unequivocal satisfaction, and produced the most
salutary and beneficial effects. Numerous fatten
have been received from tho most distinguished
physicians In the country, and from the proftsson
or several medical colleges, recommending In the
highest terms the value or these medicines, and
their superiority over ail other preparations for
such corapluinta as the proprietor recommends.
Numerous preiarationu of Sarsaparilla and of Buchu
und various modes of preparing them have been
S lvcn, all of which of course will differ according to
le mode of pVeparation which each Individual may
admit.
These medicine* require considerable care in the
preparation ami the employmout of different men
strua in successive operation to take up the extrac
tive matters, and, in consequence, are most fre
quently Improperly made, and not unfrequently
much Impaired, If uot rendered totally Inert, by the
injudicious anil unskilful management of those unac
quainted with pharmaceutical preparation*. It is
therefore of the highest consideration and import
ance to the public and to the faculty that there
should be standard preparations of uniform strength
aud possessing the most advantages. To effect this
and obviate the evil alluded to, I have made a num
ber of experiments to ascertain tbe mrat eflectual
mode or extracting the virtues or the Sarsaparilla
and tbo Buchu, and to discover tbo most eligible
form for their exhibition. The experiments have
resulted most favorably, and it is with much pleas
ure I now offer to tho public and the faculty my

from in a highly concentrated form, aud are the most
active preparations which c&u be made. Two ta-
