Thomas, and although (ho building wus delroyod,
the said Safe sustained no Injury whatever from tho
Intense heat to which it had becu exposed. On open
ing tbo Safo, the contents wero found undisturbed,
and in tho same order and condition as when placed
thero, except a slight discoloration to thu projecting
ends ofa few papora. and tho backs of ouo or two or
tbs books, caused by tbo steam generated lu tho
Safo, while at Its greatest heat.
Tbe Safe and contents, as It came from tho ruins,
may still bo seen, in the possession of Mr. Thomas,
at the Gas Works. A largo assortmout of those cele
brated Safe* always on bond,und for sale by
