How Fremont Is to be Beaton. Correspondence of the N. Y. Tribune. Washington, Sept. 24, 1866. There is a magnificent scheme of pipelaying or log-rolling going on in Pennsylvania and New York. The plan is this: if the Pennsyl vania State election goes unfavorably for tho Bnchaneers, then the State of New York is to be made the battle-ground, and a capture is tc be attempted by a grand coup de main. All Hie fragments oftho disorganized Nnow Noth ing party are to bo bought np—that is, the leaders—and thus throw-tno Fillmore strength into tbe Buchanan camp. 1 have this from an aodonbted source. Fair Upland, Ojd; do New Orleans, 7(d, do Mobile, Our market oponed with a pretty active de mand from all classes of buyers, and prices were daily tending upwards, but since yester day there has been lass inquiry, the increasing stringency of the money market creating un easiness and imposing u check upon operations. The crop accounts per Canada and Baltic were of the same unfavorable character as those previously to hand, but with a tight money market and large stock, the American udvicca have no effect here, tho arrivals, however, con tinue light and the stock is steadily increasing; that of American showing a falling off of 20,- 430 bales since this day week. In Bnrats the transactions have been very limited, the actual quantity on ofiiir being extremely small, not exceeding 7000balesont of an entire stock of 87)190, of which, however, 10,000 bales are notyet landed. Long-stapled descriptions are without change. To-day, with fair enquiry, tbo sales aro estimated at 10,000 bales, 4000 being on speculation and for export; prices are firmly supported. Prices have advanced (to } ceut, in consequence of the unfavorable accounts received from the South In relation to the crop. These advices, by letter, refer to the injury to the crop on the uplands, by the sum- met drought, ana on tho bottomlands by the September rains causing rot, and in some sec- tions worms. By telegraph, from Columbia, South Carolina; Macon, Georgia; Montgomery, Alabama: and Vlcksburgh, Mississippi, advi ces have been received or frost, and tne mar- ketat New Orleans, on tho 26tb Inst., in con, sequence of the frost advices from Mississippi, advanced Jc., withsalee oflO.OOO boles. Ills E robable that at this early dutea killing frost as occurred, but that one sufficient to arrest the growth ot the plant, and force young fruit has occurred there can be no deabt. This does not diminish the prospects of the yield, that ex isted before the advent of white frost, (which, as we before stated, were not favorable,) as it only forces open the half grown bolls, which will all make cotton. It Is even yet too early to attempt to estimate the yield, as much de pends on the weather, whether wet or dry, for the next thirty days,or until the advert ofulack or killing frost, but by general consent, under tho most fovorable circumstances, it is admit ted that tbe yield will not exceed 3,21)0,000 bales, while many, even now, estimate much lower. Speculative action on this side is held In check by the apprehension of iccreased strin gency in monetary affairs in England, caused by the steady drains of bullion to the Continent and to India.
