To which the Chicago Tinas replies iu Una wise—contrasting tho so called Egypt of the Tribuue with the notable city of Chicago It ill becomes u Chicago iiiuu to boast of the morality of his neighboihood, and utteinpi . to prove it by pointing to the number ot chur ches in our nui.le city. Chicago can point with J iride to her Ulty six tcmulea or religion, and icr half dozcii others in couiae or erection. This should be evidence of morality, but the careful iuqulrer, taking up the Chicago Tribune would there fiud it stated, that Chicago h. d her one hundred aud ten houses of public proH titutiou, aud her forty known establishments lor private assignations. Are "school houses and churches lackiug” in Chicago? If they are, houses of infamy aro not, nor are "Free rnont’n friends few and far between.” If Fremont’s friends are more numerous in Chlcu- ? ;o than they aro iu Egypt, then Fremont’s riends are most numerous in a placo where { labile houses of female turpitude outnumber ntbeDroportionol three to one the eburche devoted to religious worship. If our neighbor claims the churches and school houses,he must take tho other establishments also, as eliuroc- teristlca of tho load!ties where Fremont's friends abound. In all Egypt, among the peo ple "who cannot road,” wo venture to say that the Tribune will find depraved females us source as friends of Fremont; and houses of prostitute as rare is churches disgraced by preachings or politicaltrouoflf • 4 ^ ' IVhat was Expected. The Philadelphia JCnquirer, the leading Pennsylvania organ of Fillmore, as is tho North American, of Fremont, a short timo since, hold this language iu reference to tho then ap proaching Pennsylvania election: All who advocate the Ciuciiinati platform, aud ure in favor of tho course pursued by Gen. Pierce, should vote tho Democratic ticket. All, oil tho other hand, who uro opposed to the re peal of the Missouri Compromise, who regard tlio Osteud Manifesto us an iniquity, und who deplore the frightful condition of af fairs in Kansas, should vote the Opposition ticket. Aud that they will do so, we have uo .1 doubt. Wbat, then, is likely to bo the result? Pennsylvania will, at the first regular election in October, declare against the National Ad ministration and the Cincinnati Platform, and •you overwhelming majority. Of this we feel issured. Our information upon the subject is of the strongest character. The Opposition are horeughlyr united, und they will poll un im mense vote. They feel, aud justly, that much, if nut every thing, depends upou Pennsylvania. Let the common enemy be signally routed on he second Tuesday of October, and all will be well thereafter. Aud thut he will bo defeated is every day jccomlng more apparent. The effect cauuot •ut bo electrical. The moment that it is ascei- «lined tbut Mr. Buchanan cannot carry his •wu State—that Pennsylvania is lost to the Cincinnati nominee—his case will appuur hope- w«i and sumo new policy will be adopted. Nay. this is udmited by some of the Democrat- leaders themselves. They cannot llgure Mr. .India an iuto the Presidency, unless they give dm tho vote ol Pennsylvania. His defeat hen-, uid in October, will be equivalent to u relii.- .piiMiiiient, on his part, of Uio entire campaign, i lie South, to which he now looks, will abaii- Jmi him in a body. There is, moreover, not a whisper of discord in relation to the Union ticket already in the .ield, and to which all branches of the oppoM* «“»>» will g ve a hearty support. To our friend? 'broad, therefore, we say, bo of gaud cheer i Pennsylvania understands her positiou, aud i? .irepnred to do her whole duty. The majority, •ve repeat, will not only be decisive, but it will ue signal mid overwhelming. A very pretty plot! The Fillmore men in Peiiusylvnniiv having by uniting tlio Aboli tionists, our enemies, beaten our friends, the South wits expected, to desert Buchanan and go for Fillmore—as a reward for this service of his supporters. Did tho Enquirer lako tho Southern people to bo knaves or fools—which? It is now paid that the friends of Fillmore •ure of being cheated by the Republican wire pullers, refuse to go into this arrangement. The result of the election last Tuesday shows that it matters very little what plan of opera tion is adopted by the opposition. Buchanan cau beat bis enemies single-handed, or he can bent them combined. Come as they may, de feat alone awaits them. Religious Freedom in Bulgaria.—A let ter from Widdinof the 27th ult. says: "We havo this morning heard a sound which the people of Bulgaria huve not heard lor ages— tho sound of u bell calling the Christians to church in order to thank Gcd thut the Bultan lias been pleased to restore to us our liberty ol worship.
