SHE orders for the reduction of the forces in this kingdom trejuft publiihed thro* the provinces, by a circular letter from his Swediih Majelly. Berlin, Dec . 14. By the lad letters from Saxony, Major-General Klcift was not vet returned from his expedition in * to the empire. The fame letters men tion, that his Royal Highnels Prince Henry was expefted tt Leipfick as this day, where he intended passing a week with his Prussian Majesty. Count Finkenftein feu out to morrow for Leipfick. Hambirgh, Dec . 17. We learn from Dantzick, that the Ruffian troops, which dill remain in Prussia, having now fold their magazines, were to evacuate that kingdom total ly before the end of this month, in order to return to Rufiia. BuffcUorf, Dec. 17. We hear there has been a great tu r malt at Wefel, but do not yet know the particulars. It is said to have been appealed with difficulty; and that mod of the magistrates have been sent to prison. This town is to be evacuated before the end of this month; and the Palatine troops, that are to enter in garrison here, are ready to march from Juiiers and Duren on the firft notice. Cologne , Dee. 17. It is probable the garrison the French have had ever since April 1757, will soon quit this town,* as the commandant has delivered the keys ot the city to the’ Burgher-matters; alfb the pods on the ramparts, and the artillery they had taken out of the arsenal. A reform has already been made in the corps commanded by M. de Conflans, quartered in the dutchy of Juiiers, of zo men per company, which has made the travelling dan gerousV • Liege, Dec.’ 18. Four battalions of French militia pafled this place the 15th, in their return to France. Yesterday the Privy-council received, from the court of Bruflels, rc quifitorial letters for the pafiage of fix divisions of Auitrian troops coming firom the Low-Countries. The number of men in each mvifion is not fpecified; but it is said that each division has 14 carts with baggage. They were to begin their march the 15 th, and it u cxpe&ed they will arrive on our territories to-day. Dec. 21. By the accounts received here from the Empire, the Prnffian detachments were returning into Sax ony with the contributions which they had raifcd during their late expedition. Dinkcnfpiel, Dec. 6. The Prussian troops extend them* selves more and more, and are already in the circle of Swa bia. Several inhabitants of the country of Wirtemberg and Baden-Dourlach are fending away their effe&s to the towns of Switzerland, particularly to Basil. There is great appearance aifo, that Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick, as soon as the allied troops arc all fettled in their winter-quarters, will repair to the King; and that, if after the definitive treaty between us and the Austrians should continue, his Hi&hnefs will be employed in his Ma jesty’s armies. 6 Leipfick, Dec. to. It is reported, that four of the princi pal Electors have resolved to recall iheir contingents from ► army of the Empire. Munjfer, Dec. 14. The French are preparing to evacuate Cleves, Gueldres, and other, places belonging to the King of Prussia on the Lower- Rhine; but it is not yet known whether they are to be restored to the troops of thai mo narch, or if a detachment of those of the Empress-Queen in •the Low-Countries will come to take poffeffionof them. Bremen, Dec. 13. >The King of Great-Britain has ordered THURSDAY, April 14, 1763. the ammunition to be paid for which the allied army took from hence. Franconia, Dee. 14. Gen. Kleift is retired with the troops under his command to Schleuffingen, where he was joined by 1000 men under Col. Trimbach. The army of the Em pire is arrived in the neighbourhood of Nuremourg, and is quartered in the villages thereabouts. The head-quarters are now\at Lauif. Antwerp, Dee. *4, It Is rumoured that the Auflrian Ge neral Marlhal Piza is to have the command of the troops that are to repair to the Lower-Rhine in order to take pos session of the cities evacuated by the French, belonging to the King of Prussia. Others fay that Gen. Argenteau is ap pointed to this command. AMERICA. Bojlon, February 14. On Monday lalt the Hon. Hoilfe of Reprefcntatives or dered their thanks to be given to Lieut. Col. Job Wiuflow, who commanded the Mauachufcts provincials at the retak ing of Newfoundland/ Cbarlf/ioivn, March *3. Captains Wright and Johnson, in two privateers belonging to New-York, have sent in there a French (hip, richly laden, from Bourdeaux for St. Do mingo, which they took January i6th, off of Monte Chri fli. It is said the prize had an Englilh paiTport, having failed after the ratification of the preliminary articles of peace. March 30. On Sunday last arrived here from St. Augu lline his Majetly’s ship Bonetta, commanded by John Carey., Esq; who went with dispatches, containing authen tick accounts of the ratification of the preliminary articles of peace, from his Excellency our Governor and Captain Goodall, to the Governor of St. Augulline. Capt. Carey arrived off of St. Augulline 16th inlf. and failed next day. He sent the dispatches alhorc by his Lieutenant Mr. Sandy*, who was very politely treated oy the Spaniards and brought off the answers to the letters. By the said ship of war wq learn as follows, •* March 16, 1763, there were at N st. Au gullire three privateers laid up, viz. a Hoop of eight guns, a schooner of fix guns, and another fmail schooner of fix fwivcls, a tender to the other.—A schooner lately arrived there from the Havana with an exp refs from Old-Spain, and a letter from Gen. Keppcl, with an invitation to the Bilhop of Cuba to return to the Havana, which he intends to do.— A Hoop failed 20 days before for the Havana, bat had no commUfion. They had no privateers at sea for two months before, nor have any vessels been carried in there since the cessation of hollilities. The Spaniards are very sorry to leave St. Augulline: Provisions are plenty there, a* they have had two Hoops from La Vera Cruz loaded with them. Two privateer fehooners failed from St. Augulline four months before tocruile off Cuba, and were both 101 l there.” The General Assembly of Virginia, to whom Lieutenant- Governor Fauquier recommended to pass a law lor regulat ing the trade with the Indians, did twit comply with hit request, giving for a realon, ainongft others, the danger a rising from issuing paper-money ; and the trade from that colony to the Cherokee?, &c. continues open to every bo dy, which however, it feerns, is not carried on to any great extent, otherwite lliofe Indian* would not c.mplain v! v fur city of goods,
