Whereas* by an inquejl taken the leythday of March lafl* on view of the body of one Alexander Crawford, found dead at the plantation of John MiUedgt* Efqnire* on Little Ogecbtt* the •verdid of the jury was , “ That the jaid Crawford Was fobbed ** and murdered by a ntgroe fellow* named Scipio* the property of 14 the said John Mdledgewhich said negroc * immediately after perpetrating (he said fad* made bis ejeape; and although a reward cf five pounds Starting was offered by the said John MiUedge for apprehending the said negroe , he hath not yet been taken ; and whereas it is of pnblkk utility that the said negroe flould he brought to juflice* therefore notice is hereby ‘ given, That, over and above the reyeard offered by the said John ‘MiUedge* a further reward of Ten Pounds Sterling will he paid by his Mayfly's Treasurer for this province , to any person or persons who flail apprehend tht Jaid negroe* and deli ver bm to the Piovefi- Marflai at Savannrh ; and if it flould happen that the feud negroe is killed in taking him , infuch cafl x on a proper certificate and proof thereof* the person or persons flail be entitled to a reward of Five Pounds Sterlings By order of his Excellency the Governor.
