On the lower trads of these lands is a very pleasant and healthful settlement, well known by*the name ofßelfaft, within five miles of Sunbury by water on a large creek, where any veflel that can come over our bar may load withfafety within 6o yards of the door; here is a good two (lory house and all other convenient buildings, garden and orchard, corn field and pasture, under good fence, and upwards of 400 acres of good corn land, a great bodv of pine land well stored with the best of pine, and very convenient to landings. On the upper tracts of these lands, about five miles from this, is a very pleasant settlement on the marlhes and north branches of Midway, where there is 500 acres of clear land, two of which is now planted in rice, corn and potatoes, the other in good pasturage, all under good fence; there is on this plantation a good barn and com house, a small house for an overseer, and negroe houfe* to lodge 00 or too (laves; here is at lead 1000 acres of choice rice land, which abounds with the greatell conveniences for darning and keeping refcrVes of water, as also for a machine to pound rice; the whole of the rice lands may be laid under water and interfere with nobody, and as it lies in the tide s way is very easily drained; here is alio the bed 01 corn lands, the nine land, well stored with pine, and very convenient.
