province , Chancellor and Vice - idmiral of the Jams,
A PROCLAMATION.
S HERE AS the lately raged in
the province of South-Carohna ; AND
WHERE AS* by. two proclamations,
dated the nineteenth January and fifth
July lail in purfuanceof the law of
this province, intituled, An Act to oblige
Ships and other VtjfcU coming from Places ;n
----fitted with epidemical Difcmfers to perform
Quarantain, it was ordered, that all Ihips, velTels, boats, and
persons, coming from Charlellown in South-Carolina, or*
other* places in the laid province infected with the Ouall
pox, mould perform quarantain; AND WHEREAS it ap
pears that the final 1-pox is intirely ceased in Charlcftown,
and clfewhere in the laid province, and as the continuance
of the find quarantain is very inconvenient to, and a great
reftridlion on, the trade of this province, I HAVE THERE
FORE, with the advice of hisMajefty’s Honourable Coun
cil, thought fit to iffuc this my proclamation, taking off the
&id quarantain, and the fame is taken off accordingly..
Given under toy band, and the great seal of his Majcfy*s
feud province , in the Council- Chamber at Savannah,
tip twenty-ninth den of September, in the year of our
Lord one thostfand/even hundred and fixty-throe, and in
the third year of his Majeflf s reign.

WHEREAS the General Assembly of this province
(lands prorogued to Wednesday the twelfth day of
October next ensuing; AND WHEREAS, in obedience to
his Majefly’s commands, I am obliged to attend at the con

srulla fifteenth day of the said month; i HAVE
THEREFORE thought fit to issue this my proclamation,-
further to prorogue the said General Afl'embly, and it is
hereby prorogued accordingly to Monday the twenty-fiffl
day of Novernbcr next ensuing, then to meet for the dispatch

THIS is to give notice, that 1 have now in my ceftody
a runaway negroe fellow, taken up on Col. Bailue s
s Hand; he is about five feet four inches high, has on an old
green negroe cloth jacket, no breeches, freaks but imlifle
rent English, calls himfelf BiUg, and lavs his nial er * name
is Mr. Grundy. The owner of the said fellow mult appl\ to
*ne within fix weeks frorii this 26th day of September 1763.

hg, after the neweit and best manner, at a reasonable rate.
Those who chafe to employ him, may call on him at Mr*
John Lyons’s (hop, where they may fee the machines. II is
flay will be but about three weeks m this place.

A PLANTATION, situate on Savannah river, con-
Jl% taining pco acres of land, of which 850 acres is rivet
(wamp, watered by spring tides, and abaut $0 acres of it
cleared; the other 100 acres is exceeding good high land,
is chiefly cleared, and has a good dwelling-house thereon.
The swamp abounds with a large quantity of very valuable
cyprefe, fit either for sawing or making of Ihingles, very
convenieut to a market, being about ia miles dittant from
Savannah by land or water. —For further particulars en
quire of eitner of the fubferibers at Savannah.

RUN AWAY from the fubferiber, about fix months
ago, a NEGRQ FELLOW calledC>r*/; heist Ihort
thick and well set fellow, country born, and talks good
but foeaks low, and is about 24 or *5 years of
age,—Alfo, about four months ago, another NEGRO
FELLOW named Coffe; is a tall and Aim young fellow,
very much pitted with the small pox, he is also country
born, and speaks good Englilh.—Thcfe two arc supposed to
be gone up towards Auguila, as Cyrus* was seen and in
cullody near that place, and as theother was taken up there
lafl year.—Also, another NEGRO FELLOW called O/ar,
he is a little fellow, and speaks but very indifferent English,
is of the Angola country; he k supposed to be lurking near
Savannah, as he has been taken near ttyat place fcveral time!
before. Whoever brings thcfe negroes, or any ot them,
to the fubferiber athis plantation, or to Mr. George Bail
lie merchant in Savannah, /hall be fufticiently rewarded,
according to the trouble they have been at, and all legal
charges paid; and if he can find that they, or any of them,
has been harboured or kept in fecrct by any perfen or per
sons whatever, he will profccutc hi,m or them to the ntmoft
of his power; and any person (ball be well rewarded that
can give certain information by whom they or any of them
b-vc been so harboured or fecrctcd.
