WHEREAS the subscriber's plantation, lately Chief
Just ice Grover’s, now named Hermitage, it griev
ously and unfufferably annoyed and disturbed oy negroes,
who come there by sand ana water in die night-time, and
“not only rob, steal, and carry off hogs, poultry, fliecp,
corn, and his potatoes, but create very great disorders a
mongst his Haves, by debauching his flatve wencheS, who

therefore are to give notfbe to all proprietors of Haves, that,
after the 16th September 1 763, the fnbfcriber is determined
to treat all negroes that Hull be found, within his fences,
after fun-fct, and before fun-rife, if thieves, robbers, And
invaders of his property, by fhodring them, and for that in
tent he has hired a white min properly armed for that pur

About four thousand acres of land
St. Philip’* parifli, on the north fide of Midway all
joining on said river,’ the creeks and maifhes thereof, with
seven miles front* On the lower trafcts of these lands is a
very pleasant and healthful settlement, well known by th
name-of Belfaft, within five miles of Sunbury by water o tl C

may load with fal'ety within 60 yards of the door; here is a
good two story house and all tfther convenient building
garden and orchard, edrn field and parture, under gr uc i
fence, and upwards of 400 acres of good corn land, a great
body of pine land well ftOned with the best of pine, and very
convenient to landings. .On the upper trails of thele lands 7
glfout five miles from this, is a vPry pleasant settlement

and the crop now on the ground, and know the price and

moderate terms, containing 4750 acres, viz.
One traft situate on North Newport river, about, four
miles from Sunbury, containing 900 acres, 400 of which are
good swamp, with a fine'refervc of water, a good dwelling
houfe thereon, and 80 acres of the high land cleared.
Another traft of 350 hcres, .on a uavigable creek, within
one mile of Sunbury, good for indico and rice, about 90
acres of the high land beared, and ?. # /eliing-houie there
on, pleasantly situated.
, 800 acres on Bull Town swamp, four miles from a landing.
96° acres on Newport swamp, fix miles from a landing.
500 acres on said swamp, seven miles from a landing.
Moo acres in St. Andrew's parish, two miles from a landing.
These four last trafts arc principally rice land, and cilecm
ed inferior to none in this province, having great conveni- 1
ency for back water.
