Wilkins, from Niagara, with ammunition and provifiont
for Detroit, in their pnifagt over lake Erie, in a violent gale

platoons, and Mr, William* Surgeon to the Roth regiment,

and greaj part of their proviiions were destroyed, returned to

Detroit with a letter from the French commanding officer at
Fort Chartres on the Miffifippi to all the Indians, advising
them to be at peace with the Englifli, as they were now one
people.; at the fame time it contained an invitation to them
