Lieu tenant-Governor of the Hland of Tdbago, and Robert Stew art, Esq. one of the commissioners for the file and disposal of his Majesty’s lands in Granada, the Grenadines, and ceded islands, will proceed next Wednesday in the Melville, Ro bert Ogilvie commander, to the island of Tobago, m order to determine, with all poflible fpecd> on the moil fui table and healthy situation for the immediate establishment of a town §nd fortifications in thefaid island, and that certain parcels of jand, in the molt convenient places, will beset apart at the fame timi?, to be granted by the general in different al lotments, on very easy terms of cultivation, to persons defl rous to become fettlcrs, but not able to undertake the fettle vent of sugar plantations. The place fixed on for a town, which will be it one of the iofl healthy situations on the windward flde, is immediately to be laid out in the moll commodious manner, and granted by the general in town lots to be built on, and a small pas ture or field annexed to eadh lot, to flich persons as (hall firil applv for the fame.
