ACRES, on Newport, it being very good for rice,
com, or indico, and as convenient for back water as any in
the province. Any person inclinable to purchase may treat
with the subscriber on Newport on very realonable terms.

A 'LL gentlemen belonging to the firft troop of horse mi
litia, under the command of Capt. Lachlan M‘Gil!i
vray, are desired to be properly accoutered and appear at the
captain's house, by eight of the clock in the forenoon, the
acth day of this instant Oftober, being a general mutter day.
And whereas several gentlemen that obtained certificates
have not hitherto accoutered, or did not appear at publick
mutter, this therefore serves to acquaint those gentlemen,
that if they do not appear as aforefaid, they will be fined, or
discharged from the said troop, unless they make a fatisfac
tory excuse. By Order of the Captain.
RUN AWAY from Mr. Ferguson's plantation in Caro
lina, the 3d of September latt, a SERVANT MAN,
named John Smith, born in fome part of Holland, a (hip
carpenter by trade, but has been a sailor for fome time patt,
he (beaks pretty good Englilh, is about 27 years old, near
fix feet high, (lim made, he has brown hair, and is of a (al
low complexion; had on when he went away a dripped jac
ket, cheque (birt, and oznaburg trowfers; he cut his (hin
two days before he run away, which it is possible may be
now fore. Thirty (hillings sterling will be given to any
nerfon who apprehends him and (ecures him in Savannah
goal, by applying to JOHNSON and WYLLY.

speaks no Englilh, has on a white negroc cloth jacket
and breeches, a white canvafscap, and has a fear op his left

TO BE SOLD,
FOUR HUNDRED ACRES of LAND, inferior to none
in Georgia for raising wheat, rye, barley, flax, and
indico, fituateon the Walnnt Branch in Halifax diftna, a
bont 16 miles from Savannah river. There is about aj
acres cleared and under fence. It is lofty timber, and chiefly
W white and red oak, hickory, and locust, with abun
dance of large black walnut, a peach orchard of above 550
tree, planted out fix years past. It hath ifpwards of one mile
of a cane bottom alongft the northwest line, and (aid branch
running through it. The bottom is exceeding good for
hempor meadow.-Such as inclineth to buy it may apply to
Mr. John Thomas of said diftria, or to the fubfenber on
Whitmarih island near Savannah. Credit will be given if
reauired for half the porchafe one year clear of m tereft.—

SHIP bread,—kegs of white bifeuit,—flour,—new firkin
butter,—cordials in ankers,—white pine boards,—oni
ons,—vinegar,—mould candles,—(hoes of all fixes, —refined
bar iron,—powder sugar in barrels,—coffee,—bottled beer,
—rappee and plain (nuff,—cut and dried tobacco,—a few
small arms,—and a (mall assortment of faddlery and iron
mongery. Said Devereux fails for New York with ail con
venient speed. For freight or passage agree with him at his
lodgings at the Widow Smith's.
LOST, on Horton’s wharf, the 29th of September latt.
A SILVER WA TCH, with a china dial plate and a
filyer -chain, the maker's name Simon Parriffi of London.
Said watch has in the case a round piece of thread lace, and
the watch-maker’s bill amounting to iof, Whoever deli
vers the said watch to Mr. Nicholas Horton, or the Widow
Smith innkeeper, (hall have xo., reward

NOTICE is hereby given, to all persons having fuiu
depending in the Court of Chancery in this province*
That the said court will fit to hear and determine caufcs on
the latt Tucfday in this present month of Oftober, and that
the several plaintiffs in fuits mutt set down their causes
lor hearing with the Register, so that fubpxna’s may iffuo
to hear judgment, which fubpxna’s mutt be served fix days
before the return thereof, if the defendants live in Savan
nah, or within twenty miles thereof, and twenty days if

2N Saturday the 28th ult. the Hon. John Stuart, Efq#
Superintendant of the southern dittrift of America*
l from Charleftown for St. Auguttine, where a congrefii
is to be held with the Creek Inmans, in order to fix the
boundaries of his Majetty’s province of East-Florida, &c.
A letter from Panfacola of the sth September fays, The
Alarm man of war is just returned from surveying Spiritu.
Santo or Tampo and Carlos Bays. Capt. Cotton tells me
the former is a very fine harbour, has a deep entrance, and
is very capable of containing a fleet. Carlos Bay has only
11 feet entrance. Tampo is the north-weft branch of Spirt
tu Santo. I have not yet seen the draughts, which will be
sent home direftly.
The (hip Richard and Benjamin, Robinson, is arrived
from this port at Cowes.
