AMERICAN INTELLIGENCE.
Brwidtut % RM’JjlunJ, Jugufi 14,
l i* hoped we may publicity declare, without the
f 4* imputation of boasting, that great ceconomy hath
1 4* got footing among us. with refped to European
4*4>44> manufactures. The Quantity is very much Iri*-
fened, and in the article of cloathing, such as are
of a confer texture than what were btretoforeconfumfcd, are
substituted, and found to ahfwer the end as well, and cany
no disgrace with them. Our own woollen and linen goods
grow into high credit, and there is a general spirit for
mg cloth: The ladies, to their honour be it spoken, now
eftecra it no disgrace to turn the spinning wheel, and contri
bute to the prosperity of their country. Great-Britam may
one day find the impolicy of reftriaing our commerce, as
the neceflary coafequence is an application here to manufac
ture our own goods. . r . •
