of his Majeftv’* justices amgned to keep the peace in the pariih of
1-Church and town of Savannah, in the province ot Georgia, per To
tally appeared Jonathan Remington, of Savannah, taylor, who being
duly sworn on the Holy Evangelills of Almighty God, depofeth as fol
lows, That whereas this deponent has been informed, that a report has
b£enfpread and propagated, greatly prejudicial to the character and con
dud of Lydia M'Carty, the wife of Cornelius M'Carty, late of Savan
nah, carpenter, with whom the deponent lodged and boarded, not only
during the absence of the said Cornelius M'Carty, but likewifeat the time
of his relidcnce here, with his wife and family, for of about
eighteen months; this deponent* upon the oath he has taken, decide**
That he has never had, dtredly or indiredly, any indecent freedom or
criminal convention with the said Lydia M'Carty, or Ihe with him :
And this deponent also declares, That he now is, and will at all times
hereafter be ready and willing to give any further or other fatisfadion
that the said Cornelius M'Carty may require for the juftification of his

HERE AS it was formerly a cullom with fome people to pull down
the fences belonging to Rofcflue plantation, formerly belonging
to Lady Houfloun, but now belonging to tlTte fubferiber, and turning in
their cattle, horses, and hogs, this is to desire them to refrain. Ana as
the fubferiber has likewise bought the island formerly belonging to Mr.
Thomas Parker deceased, lying contiguous to the aforefaid Roiedue plan
tation, he gives notice, that he will not allow any person or persons to
hunt, or cut any timber on either of the aforefaid places.

He will also bake every day between 11 and 1 O’clock any thing for dinner

Ail persona in and near Sunbury indebted to said Williams are desired
to fettl® their accounts immediately with him in Savannah, or with Mr.
Lnwfon in Sunbury, otherwise they may exped to be sued without diflinc

Yesterday died in towu Mrs. Mary Biyan fen. being 65 years of age,
born rn Sduth Carolina; a person much refpeded, having palled through
the different ftanonl of life with honour. She was mother of seven chil
dren, who all lived to b; married, and has left 23 grandchildren.
