WARSAW, Jult i. -
ALL the Ruffian troops that were dis perish rovghout Poland are
now united under the walls of this city*. Out of 15,000 men, to
which they amounted at fiift, 10,000 of whom remained at the end of lull
year, they do not now confill of above 5 or 6000.
July |2, Letters from the frontiers of Turkey confirm the account
that 5000 Ottoman volunteers had palfed the Neifler, and attacked the
Ruffian light troops under Prince Proforowlki, and that they had been re
•pulfed with the lofc of 300 men. The outrages commuted by the Tartars
are incredible.
Jaly 15. An account lately arrived, that the Ottoman army, confiding
•f 70,000 men, under theSeraikier Ali Pacha, had pafled the Neirter near
Mohilow, by which rapid step the Turks have taken pofll-ffion of several
■Ruffian magazines. Vhe fame account adds, that, the advanced guard of
the Grand Signior’s army had furprized rhe corps under Prince Proforow-
Jti, totally routed them, and killed the Geoeral; but a letter received
ince declares, that the Ottoman horse had only fallen upon a fma i recon
noitring party of light troops which the Prince commanded, whom hey

July 19 Yesterday a courier arrived here with advice, that the Ruffian
army, commanded by Prince Gallitzin, after having repaired the Neifter,
attacked and beat the 13th of this month a corps of the army of SO,OOO
Turks commanded by the Seraficier. The adion began at fix o’clock in
the morning, and lasted till nine. The Ottomans having been put to the
vout, and fending the nad to jaflTy entirely blocked up, f>me of them e
leaped into the fortrefs of Choczim, and others retired on the tide of Ka
les. These are the only particulars which the courier hath given of this
affair. He adds, that he was charged with a circumstantial relation, but
that the Confederates took it from him.
The fame courier further informs us, that a body of Ruffian troops,
commanded by Gen. Berg, hath also beaten t'.ie Tartars, and killed 6000
men.
Leghorn, June 24. A second En'jHfli ship arrived here the day before
yesterday from Porto Vecchio, having on board near 300 Corsicans, a
snong whom are Clement Paoli, Count Gentili, the Sieor Rortino, Capt.
Carlo Salicetti, Ac. with ifecc'efiafticks. Gen. Pascal Paoli having been
informed of their a> rival returned hither from Pisa, and it is thought that
Re wiU let out with his brother for Florence, whither Count Gentili is al
ready gone with the SieursMurato, Rortino, and others.
Copenhagen, July 14. The Duke of Gloucester, after having been re
ceived here with the gieateft marks of friendihip and affeflion by the
Xing and Queen, and after paying his compliments to the two Queen
Dowagers, and the Princess Amelia, hath begun to view the curiohties
of this city and its environs.
London, Jaly 20. The favourable refolucions said to be row adopted
with regard to the colonies are wholly attributed to the advice of a noble
Lord, the utility of which is said to be acknowledged by his brother- in
law. who formerly was of a very different opinion.

Yesterday died at Pete<fborough house, on Parsons-green, near Fulham
in the Bift year of his age, the Right Hon. Daniel Finch, Earl of Wn.

Trinity house, Knight of the Garter, and one of the Lords of his Maje
sty’s Molt Hon. Privy Council. He is fuccceded in title by a son of La.
