where it was again read, and is as follows, viz.

The Older of the day being read, the Houle took the fame ir to ccnfi
dcration, and the report of the Committee of Privileges and Elections be
ing read, a motion was made, that the Houfo refolvc irfclf into a Com
mittee of the whole Houfc to take the said report into confederation.
The question being put, it pafled in the negative.
’ Then the Houle proceeded to confidcr further the said report, and tbo
law of this piovince for electing Reprefentativcs was read.
. Then the Returning Officer was called in and examined.
T hen a witness was called .ia and examined.

That the further consideration of the laid report be adjourned till four
of the clock this afternoon.

The Houfc, according to order, took into-further consideration the or
der of the day on the report of the Committee of Privileges and Elections
on the double return from Greit-Ogechee and parifli bf St. Philip, and
the Returning Officer was again called in and examined.
: Then another witness was called in and examined.
■ Then the firft witness was called in and examined again,
Then Charles Odingfell and Richard Cunningham Crooke, Efouirer,
were directed to withdraw.
And the report of the Committee of Privileges and Ele&ions was again
read.
The question was pat, whether this House will agree with their Com
mittee in the said report ? it pafled in the affirmative.
Rxsolved,
That Charles Odingfell, Efqoire, is duly elefled a Reprefcntative for
the diftria of Great-Ogechee and parilh of St. Philip.

1 hat the Provost Marlhal, with the Returning Officer, do attend tht*
Koufe to-morrow morning, to amend the return for the diftrift of Great-
Ogechee and parilh of St. Philip, by razing out the name of Richard Cun
ningham Crooke, Esquire, and thar the name of William Le Conte, Es
quire, a freeholder of the said parilh, whole vote wasrefufed at the said
election, be added to tbmpoll. ,
Wedsetfday November 8, 1769.
The Provoft-Marftial, with the Returning Officer for the diiiridt of
Great-Ogechee and parilh of St. Philip, attended according to order, and
amended the return lor the said diftrift and parilh, and added the name of
William Le Conte. Esquire, to the poll.
Then Charles Odin*feii, Esquire, proved hitnlelf duly qualified to servo
as a Rcprefeptative for the said diftrift and pariftt, according to the terms
preferibed in and by an adqf the General Assembly of this province, and
then took the oaths, and made and fubferibed the declaration, and took
and fubferibed the oath of abjuration, and then took his feat as a Member
of this Houfc.
