that the fame will be tolled ai the law direfts as
soon at the marks and brands can be afeertain
ed, and that in the mean time any person prov
ing their property in the fame, or any of them,
according to law, may have them by applying
to me at Orange Grove plantation at Ogechee.

a fefpicioa of their having efcapcd from the
enemy's camp, brought there from the back
country, and liable to be taken and fold by an
infamous gang of who are now aft

notice is hereby given, that the cattle may be
viewed, 5y any person who has been a fuffe er,
until the toth day of December next, when they
will be toiled according to law.. In the interim,
they will be delivered to those whofc claims are
properly proved.
RUN AWAY, on the tft inst. A NEGRO
BOY, about 12 years old, of a black com
plexion, strong made, marked with a small
cut on the crown of his head, country born,
named JAMBS, but generally called TEM,
and Hammers ia his fpcech. It is fuppefed he
is in Savannah, or on board fome veff.l. Five
dollars reward will be paid the person who
delivers him co the fubferiber, and whoever is
cunvifttd of harbouring or employing him, the
informer, upon such conviftion, ihall receive
five guineas, if the delinquent is a free white per
son, if a negro, two guinaas. All mailers of
velfels are cautioned against inenrri ng the trouble

WHEREAS the common gaol in Savannah
is in a ruinous condition, and under a
state of repair, and the pruveft used by the mi
litary is so much cruudtd with military prifoa
ers that those who are committed by the civil
authority cannot be received there for want of
room: AND WHEREAS his Excellency tha
Governor hath arplied to the Officer command
ing his M-jefty’3 (hips on this station for a
trasfport employed in the King's service, to he
used at a prifen (hip until the common gaol ia.
repaired, and in a condition to redfeive prison
ers: AND WHEREAS the brigantine Miner
va, a trai sport, huh been assigned for that pur*
pefe, and is now lying in the river Savannah,
near the Publick landing, under Savannah
Bluff, ready to receive the prifoaers: Wo do
therefore hereby, with the consent es his Excel
lency the Governor, order and direst, that the
Afting Provcft Marshal of this province, and
the Gaoler of the common gaol in Savannah,
do forthwith remove all prifoi.ers committed by.
the civil authority in this province, both ia
Pleas of the Crown, and also by civil process,
on board the said brigantine Minerva, and da
them in fafe custody there until they arc
difeharged by dua course of law. And, with
the consent aforefaid, we do, from the necessity
of the case, aad that the administration of juf.
tice may not be impeded, and prffocers escape,
further order and direst, that from henceforth
the said brigantine Minerva, or any other veflel
that may herraf er be appointed as a prifoa (hip,
(hall be coniidered, to all intents and purpofea
in the law, as the common gaol rs this province,
until the common gaol is repaired, and the pri
soners are removed there; and that such veflel
shall haul close to the wharf near the Publick
Landing, which is next to the Main Guard.’
And, that it may be known what veflel is used
as a common gaol, it is ordered, That the
Commanding Officer cf the said brigantine
Minerva do constantly in the day-time cause a
whit# jack to be kept flying at the main-top
mast-head. And, lastly, it is ordered, That s
copy of this rule be iaferted ia the Gaaette
printed in Savannah, that all persons coftcerned
may take notice thereof, and conduft themfelvea
accordingly. Given under eur hands, and the
feel of the Superior Court of Georgia, at Sa
vannah, ia the said province, the 10th day of
November, In the year of our LORD 1779,
and in the 23th year of his Majesty's reign.
. The Chief Justice having called upon me with
the above order of Court, I de fully approve
of the fame, and hereby coafent to ratify it aa
