the plantation there is a roomiy convenient house,
built of good materials, and little more than four
years old. The house contains fix rooms, a
and a large light closet, and has four fire places. 4
Round the hOufe are many “fruit and flower tree*
and the purchaser may be accommodated with a
quantity of provisions. The creek abounds with
filh and oysters, and a veflel of considerable draught
of water may come up to and load at the landing.
There is a good chair road from Savannah to the

persons to whom he is indebted to call apd receive
their money; and all those indebted to him are*de

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it hath been represented to me by
Nisbet Balfour, Etquire, Lieutenant
Colonel and Commandant at Charleilown in South
Carolina, that many Negro fLves, and a large
quantity of cattle, belonging to fome of the le
queftered estates in that province, have been felo
nioufly taken and brought into this province : And
whereas l have also received information thatjarge
quantities of cattle have, from time to time, -been
felonioufly taken in this province, part whereof has
been driven into the province of ! aft Florida and
disposed of there, and other part thereof has been
driven down to Savannah, and fold to the butchers,
there for a trifling consideration : And whereas such
unlawful practices tend greatly to the deftru&ion
of the stocks of cattle in this province and outh
Carolina, and by reason thereof rot only his Ma
jesty’s loyal fubje&s, but also the King's forces, in
both provinces, may fuffer for want of frefh provi
Gons; In Order, therefore, to put a stop to such
practices in future, as far as lies with me, I have
thought fit, with the advice of his Majesty's Hon
ourable Council, to ijfue this my p/oclamation,
hereby requiring aM peace officers, and ‘others his

TXTHEREAS the number of Negroes appointed
W to work on the fortifications of Savannah
hath of late deficient, by the absence of
f many, to the very great detrimene of the publick,
and the delay cf so great and important a service,
It is therefore Ordered, That notice be given in the
Gazette of this province to all the qwners, and 0-
thers having charge of plantations, * that they fend
.their Negroes to woik as aforefaid ; and that the
law in this Case made and provided will be duly en
forced, and the penalty levied on every default. >

all persons are ftridly forewarned from harbouring
the said wench on pain of being prosecuted as far
